  1. Herbie, Would do it again in a flash - this car has been problem free since conversion. I am already planning the next one. APS Frankston know their stuff, for a stock boost level and for normal driving, I cant fault this.
  2. It didnt really split the roo. There was lots of blood on the roo, not much on the car.
  3. I thought this was (is) bad! The car is quite bent!. Is $4k really a minor thing these days? The Turbo AU bounced two roos and an emu off he front and came out better than the BA ( no repairs) . My 1968 XT hit two roo's and a dirt wall and you would be hard pressed to see the damage.
  4. On my way to work this morning and hit a roo 25ks out of Dubbo. Dont know if he car is soft, or the roo was hard but here is the result.: The car is going in monday and will come out looking like a BF XR6T. sad, but bound to happen. 150k's per day on a national parks road..........
  5. Hidden behind the petrol filler cap on mine. G'day Goldie! AU's Running great, your gas tune was perfect!
  6. Went to QLD and back a few weeks ago, cost me under $100 for about 1600-1700k awsome stuff.
  7. Yeah - they said this - is it really true? if so, Why? I'll answer my own question: NRMA VEHICLE INSPECTION SERVICE WINDS DOWN Wednesday 7 February 2007 NRMA Motoring & Services is withdrawing from the vehicle inspection market after a steady eight-year decline in member demand, revenue and profit. NRMA road service is not affected by the closure. The decision follows Vehicle Inspection’s operating loss of more than $1 million last financial year and deteriorating market conditions. The business is forecast to lose a greater amount in 2006-07. Currently less than one per cent of NRMA members use vehicle inspections each year. Market conditions, including sustained growth in new vehicle sales and the expansion of extended warranties, indicate that demand is likely to drop even further in future as fewer motorists require vehicle inspections. NRMA intends to redeploy the workforce by offering suitable alternative employment opportunities for all staff affected by the closure into other areas of the business, including the patrol workforce. A full range of job-seeking and counselling services will also be available to support those affected. NRMA vehicle inspections will continue to be available to members until the end of April 2007. The NRMA is now examining referral services which members may use after April. Media contact: Nic Frankham 0439 133 114 NRMA Vehicle Inspections: 13 11 22
  8. Oh - the reason I expect the brakes to be fixed is that these are the premo PBR "performance" brakes. - Not good enough that performace brakes have insufficient metallurgy to cope with big stops
  9. Its called ex police car meets 700k per week communter.... lol.
  10. I had an NRMA end of warranty inspecton today. Cost was $199.00. Car has 93,500k's Mate am I happy, the work that ford will cary out as a result (yes this has been confirmed with the dealer): 1. All Brake calipers lose causing rattle noise - WARRANTY 2. Centre rear differencial mount worn- WARRANTY (requires the diff to be removed) 3. Power steer high pressure hose weeping (will be repleaced) - WARRANTY 4. Both rear shocks and rubbers - R&R WARRANTY 5. All Rose joints in rear suspension- R&R WARRANTY 6. Both front shock absorbers and rubers -R&R WARRANTY 7. Right front seat foam collapsing -R&R WARRANTY 8. Right front seat skin stitching (replace seat skin) - WARRANTY 9. Left front seat skin stsiching (replace seat skin) - WARRANTY 10. Engine oil leak between engine and bell housing - WARRANTY 11. Engine oil leak at front of sump - WARRANTY The report in light of the work was cheap and carries significant weight with the dealer. The only item under contention is the front disc rotors. They have heat fractures all round. Ford suggest they are not covered due to the K's (93,500) I am challenging that and expect them to make good on a remove and replace basis. I have Ford coming back to me first thing tomorrow with an answer. (The car is only 18 months old) I will have the follow up inspection after a few thousand k's and will ensure work has been completed. Cost is apparently only $22 for follow up. Cant suggest this enough for cars going out of warranty. __________________
  11. Ask APS Frankton - I know they have done a doughnut tank in a T.
  12. My ex cop BA MKII was $20,750 at auction . It had 79,000k.
  13. The old filter was the stock one. I dont think the car is any noisier? anyway, I suppose back to back dyno testing is the only way to know.
  14. Just an update - car is great on LPG, am getting about 13l/100 on LPG. I will be ramping it up a little soon with an F6 cooler, bigger LPG injectors and a new tune.
  15. Hi there, interior is VERY good, probably 8.5/10. There are maybe 6 minor dings (only someone who washes the car would know they are there) It drives like a new BA (we have falcons at work) still smells new, FORD repaired some minor stuff under warranty (bonnet release etc...) The only thing that I can notice in driving is the passenger fron suspension, there is an occaisional light knock (like a ball joint) I had all the fluids done when I got it, and had some plugs put in it. A bolt on the turbo came loose and ford fixed that. I tracked down the HWP unit the car was with a grilled the HWP manager about the use and history of the car. It was a country HWP car I thought that was a good thing. I suppose the best indication I could give you is to say I would do it again.
  16. Mine is an ex chaser. had 79,000k's BA MKII XR6T big brakes, side air bags, tow kit, tints, reverse sensors we got it for $20,750 in december 06.
  17. Hi Folks, I purchased and fitted a FRAM airhog air filter today from super cheap. Cost was $59.99, is meant to be like the K&N or BMC. Its reuseable heaps of times. My car felt faster, has anyone tried these and are they any good?
  18. Hi folks, AS it seems I am not quite special enough to be able to start a new post (must be too new) I wanted to let you know about a cruise that welcomes all things ford that is building momentum for the 25 March 2007 . Read about it here: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.ph...225#post1230225 I am hoping to be there and would love to see some higher HP XR6T's or F6's.
  19. 220 in the T (I had only had it a couple of weeks, but my testies backed down) 260 about 10 yrs ago on my VF1000 220 on the 1995 CB1000 240 in a 200sx with a dirty big turbo Want to get a turbo CBR1100XX or similar one day.
  20. 9.8 mostly open road on petrol 12.7 mostly open road on LPG.
  21. Can confirm that the TCS operates the same on LPG and Petrol.
  22. just some early fuel data. Latest LPG figures were 12.7l/100 over a mixed (mainly highway) stretch. So at our prices that's about $8 per 100k's, at Melbourne prices it would be more like $4.90 per 100 k's.
  23. True, the tax however is capped at a much lower percentage than the petrol. The govt has been advising of this tax change for some time. The only reason petrol is a little cheaper at the moment is the higher than average temps experienced in the U.S. and therfore lower use of fossil fuel based heating. Petrol prices will be back to those scary figures shortly. 18 months ago I was being told that LPG prices were going to rise to a point that LPG would not be a viable alternative. Since then I have saved about $3646 by running LPG in my Turbo AU. I actually dont want lots of people to get their car fitted for LPG. The less people using the fuel and the lower the demand the cheaper the price and the more money in my pocket - funding my lifestyle. The more petrol company info that is circulated about the dangers of LPG and how its cost savings are eroded by this or that the more I actually stand to save. People who do lots of miles will have already sought out the information about what is cost effective and what is not. The tens of thousands of taxis in our capital cities are still using LPG and still having LPG fitted to cars joining the fleets. The cheapest fuel I can buy (LPG) is about 57.9c per litre. When I drove to Melbourne two weeks ago I saw LPG for 38.9c per litre. Now if I could buy fuel at that price I would be saving SERIOUS money.
  24. I really dont know. My backayrd built AU "SNORT" Turbo with ring mixer LPG has done 38,000 on a 104k wrecker motor running 7 psi with a standard ECU. It still runs like a charm. Everything made after 1986 (for unleaded) has hardened valve seats, I dont see that LPG would be harmful to these engines. Its a high octane fuel, it doesnt have some of the carbon deposits that petrol has. I need to see 217,000k's out of this car for the lease, I dont think I will have any dramas. Do some googling on LPG and Turbos' with ford motors, there are some fairly hefty cars out there with LPG and boost. I know of one fairlane built by bensons at cardiff that I think is now 16 years old still running original engine, LPG and turbo. I have four cars on LPG so I am biased, but you cant argue with the cost savings.
  25. Neither. It has: Premium baking package (I think that on its own was $2950) Side impact air bags factory Tints factory Tow Kit Reverse parking sensors extra alloy wheel
