Thanks Robo OK so I picked it up in Narromine this morning and drove it home (albeit with the kids) Performance is good, as expected, it will take me some time to get used to how best to roll on and off the torque without wringing its neck. Under full acceleration it is quicker than both my AU Turbo and the BA MK2 Turbo. so we are off to a good start. Good points so far: New rotors on the front. WIN rotors on rear only 1mm wear. new diff bush recently interior in very good order. new tyres all round (WTF! normally they are sent with legal tyres and good tyres are kept for the next car) All interior controls seem to work well. Engine ticks over like a sewing machine (quiet as) The oil smelt good and was still honey coloured, 5000k into the service period. suspension and front end felt super good. (no noises and nice and firm/planted) The Bad? There was grime and grease on the compressor housing of the turbo.?? Warranty??? The drivers seat belt is frayed at the edge. (Warranty) Seat has seen some wear from gun belt The clear coat has lifted in the Left Front caliper. There is a 1mm-2mm rust spot on the LH boot channel (warranty) There is corrosion in one of the holes on the inside of the bonnet (warranty) There is some Orange peel on the drivers side rear (see pic) Pillar? ?? Warranty?? The heat shielding under the bonnet has sagged (warranty) the boot lid has rubbed on the rear bar (Warranty) Panel gap on rear bar (Warranty)

Agreed on all counts. Should be picking it up in about 2.5 hours.

Hi boost, this my one is rego BA97SA it was with traffic services. The one with 65k was a taipan or raptor car. It's rego is BA93SA After doing some digging it seemed that the car I bought was a better car despite the k's I have the serial numbers at work, so I don't know which car the one in the pic is, there are only 11 F6's in the fleet, so there can't be too many nitro ones!
-
Yeah up to 867,000 on the old girl. On ebay now item number 190479155946 Please someone buy it who will love it.
-
Hi Mate, Mick from Pitlane mentioned you lol. which car are you referring to? The new one is a nitro FG F6 with 95k, the one it replaces is a white 2005 XR6 Turbo with SVI LPG and 245k, the one for sale is a white AU Falcon with a turbo and front mount cooler and 865k.
-
I would have bought the ex police XR6T for mid $20k, but the FPV F6 just had more appeal. Being an ex police car has never bothered me!
-
Picked up an ex NSW Police F6 at auction, wanted to pay $32, but a live bidder pushed me to $34,700. Its a 10/2009 build F6 in Nitro. It has 95,000k (mostly on F3 @ 110kph) Soon its off to Pit Lane Performance at Frankston for a JTG LPI LPG system. I will post some details on the outcome of the JTG and also this means I have a turbo AU for sale with 222.5rwkw running LPG for $5500. (but that wasnt the reason for this post!) I will post up details of the LPG conversion here and on AFF for anyone interested.
-
Been away a while Car now has 240,000 on it. LPG for 150,000 of that about to do an FG with liquid - will post results. Still have the old AU turbo with ring mixer LPG, 867,000k now pushing 222.5rwkw woot.
-
I regret I have not been here for a while. The LPG has been faultless - I still get 13l/100 and now have 145,000 on the clock - that's over 55,000 on the LPG. Goes like a trooper. APS and Hilbert know their stuff and their after sales service has been first rate.
-
Hi there it starts on petrol and changes over at 20 degrees. I sometimes drive on petrol for 50k's or so just to ensure the petrol doesnt get too old. Petrol is 11l/100k open road. LPG is 13 l/100 open road. go for it!

Car is fixed, bill was around $5K insurance is paying. Ended up being 3 broken/melted wires in the harness. Related to jumpstartin - dont do it!
-
Yeah I agree the 7.5 hrs was for the HIM moduleI amy not have been clear.
-
I am trying top find out the problem, it sure is a mystery. They do sound a little similar.
-
We have now replaced the BCM, the HIM the ICC and checked all earths. No good. The bill is at $2100 and we still dont know what the problem is. This is starting to wear thin. On the plus side, it looks like I can claim it all through my insurance since I am likely to have caused the damage with my jump start. What sucks is that in 2008 we cant find a problem with a car where the cars computers were meant to tell us everything. Anyone got any suggestions? I am starting to think the issue is somewhere in the harness now - what do you think?
-
My 7/2005 did 79,000 with the NSW Police HWP and since Jan 2007 has done 49,000 with me for a total of 129,000 or thereabouts. Seems to be getting faster?
-
Hi Folks, Got the BEM (BCM) changed today by ford - they thought that might be the problem. No good. They now want to replace the ICC (Did you realise they are $4000+ from ford?) Luckily I have found one out of a GT delivered to Dubbo for $400. So this is the next task. What do you guys think in regards to the BEM being replaced? Is changing the BEM mandatory when changing the ICC (this is what the dealership tells me). It dose not sound right to me. So I still have no A/C (At all!) and no pwr windows (except evrerynow and agin) Help appreciated.

The key is looking less and less like the culprit. I took the whole radio a/c bit out on sunday and checked those connections, they were OK. But the problem is in that area.
-
Thanks for the replies folks I agree it sounds like an earthing issue, but after a few days he intermittent nature of the windows has revealed itself to be quite predictable. Every third of fourh start the windows work for about 1 minute after starting and then wont work again for three to four starts The a/c has not been on at all. This is leading me to think a computer hs developed a mind of its own. The fault codes keep pointing to the HIN and BCM. Ford have ordered ina a new Body control module and will fit that Monday - if that fixes it then we know BCM was the issue if it does not fix it then the HIN module comes out and gets replaced too. If none of these work then we are back to sqaure one looking at every connection in the car.

In Dubbo, LPG is 80cpl so it costs $42 or so to fill from near empty. I get 450 k's of mixed driving on that. Its a 55L tank Roy
-
49,000 k's on LPG system now. No problems whatsoever with the LPG system. Still returning about 12-13l/100k's Only about 2.5 years until I do a typhoon the same way.

Hi Folks, Long time no post. But I really need some help here. I got in the BA MK II XR6T last sunday to drive the car to the central coast for a famly reunion. It started as normal, and the A/C was on from the day before so I turned it off. It was still dark so I turned the headlights on and while the headlights came on, the dash failed to light up (all warning lights etc... were fine, just no back illumination . I thought I would test some other things - the A/C wouldnt come back on (nothing on the LCD, no fan or compressor action) , the power windows wouldnt go down, the speedo is sitting at 10kph at idle and is doing some weird flicker when I turn it off. I checked all fuses and found a blown tail light - that's it. I Disconnected the battery overnight (I took the old turbo taxi down to Central Coast) came home this Monday morning and reconnected the batery I now had dash lights but no A/C and no power windows. I called a bloke who works on taxis and he suggested there might be a broken spring in the ignition that would cause those symptoms, he got me to wiggle the key back towards the off positon and this did get the windows going again for a few seconds, but I have not been able to do it again. Anyone seen this before? In my 49,000 k's and 128,000 on the car I have had no problems and this came out of nowhere Any help appreciated. Update: 10/03/2008 I disconnected the BCM - no change. Update: 11/03/2008 Ford found 26 fault codes but have cleared them and its going back tomorrow. Update 11/03/2008 Car ran faultlessly into Dubbo and back out. No issues except the lack of A/C display and fan or compressor action, and the lack of Power windows 12/03/2008 another day with ford no answers. Ford propose to swap out the BCM with a known worker to see if that is he issue. If not the HIN will need to come out (its about a 7.5 hour job at $80 per hour.)

Lets do the math (yes I do lots of K's) Below are Dubbo prices LPG @ 60cpl use at 13l/100 k = $7.80 per $100 k's If I could buy LPG at Melbourne prices - 40cpl that would be $5.20 per 100 k's - criminal PULP @ 140cpl use at 10l/100k = $14.00 per 100k's At the moment I do about 900k's week so it really does add up. I think it costs $4400 for a T.
