  3. Their RGB converter is $300, and if you need an auto switching harness (because you already have a reverse cam or sat nav from the factory), there is another $150
  4. Yes, it can be done. Easiest way is to get a Teac DVB-400 STB. It will run off a 12volt input. Next, you have to flash the firmware so it puts out a NTSC signal. Teac made the firmware available for the BA Falcon. If you cant find it on Teac site, PM me and I will email it to you. Next, you need to set the Scart output to RGB (via the STB menus) Then you have to make up a scart to ICC cable to connect it. This is all the easy bits. To have ANY chance of getting a half decent signal, you really need to go for a diversity antennae system, which is basically 4 mobile phone size aerials on each corner of your car, feeding into the box that picks the best signal and send to the STB. Having done all this a few years ago on my BA XR6, I would say forget it. You never get a good signal, unless your lucky, and you just get as frustrated as hell of the continual drop outs!!! 5. Hi, I have one in the mail, with the correct harness for BA/BF Falcon. I will be installing in my 2010 Territory Ghia, and will (well, want to) add iPod, bluetooth and GPS to it at some stage.
  6. OK, think you need to re-read the articles. There are 2 inputs to the ICC. One is for video, and one is for audio. The audio goes in the AUX connector, and the AM button switches between AM and AUX. If you dont have the AUX cable instaled, then it cant switch to AUX when you press the AM button:) The video connects in thru the Sat Nav socket at the back of the ICC, just above the tissue box. You will see there is a switch that needs to be added to the harness you make up, and the switch toggles between normal display, and display from the the Sat Nav input. If you dont get a picture, then you dont have the switch, or the other wiring is wrong. And I am still after a good antenna to feed into the Teac box. Have resurected it and have in my new Fairmont Ghia.
  7. Think u may have to re-read the 17 pages. The ICC needs a RGB signal. RCA connector on DVD is a composite signal. You cannot just make a cable. The signal will need to be converted. SCART is not a video standard, it is a plug style that MAY have several different video standards on it's various pins. IF a DVD player, or most other devices (other than PCs) have RGB output, it will usually be via the scart connector. So, your choices are either. Find a DVD player with a scart connector, THEN find out whether that scart connect has a RGB output THEN find out if it can be set to NTSC. If answer YES to all 3, you should be able to make a scart-to-icc cable and connect for video. The other choice is buy one of the converter boxes that a few of the sponsors sell. It will do the RGB output AND NTSC. You can then plug any dvd, xbox, etc into it. Audio is a separate issue, and is very easy. By the aux input cable from Ford. (the newer one has less interference problems). It plugs into a connector behind the fuse box (only free connector that will match the cable). The other end has a standars 3.5mm stereo socket that mounts (if you like) to a tab at the back of, and under, the tissue holder. You then use a 2xrca to stereo 3.5mm plug cable, and plug that between your DVD audio out and the aux input cable 3.5mm socket. Next, press the AM button on stereo a few times. It is the toggle switch between AM radio and AUX input.
  8. There is an AUX input option, which connects to a connector behind the fuse box and then goes to a stereo socket, whick mounts on the little lip under the tissue holder at the back. You can plug MP3 players, etc into it using a standard 3.5mm stereo jack, and then press AM on the stereo unit until AUX is shown. This routes the sound thru the ford unit. However, there has been mixed reports on the quality, as there is no shielding on the lead.
  9. Hi Guys, Found this PAL <--> NTSC converter on ebay. There is a link to the manual on the page. It has a 15 pin VGA, s-video and composite input and 15 pin VGA, s-video and composite output. And with a push of buttons, you can convert pal to NTSC, or NTSC to PAL. Use a button to select a source, and it outputs to all three outputs at a time (so converts any source to all outputs). Using this, make a cable from the VGA output to the ICC input. Next, conncet your PAL DVD and STB to the S-Video and composite inputs. As I have Sat Nav, I will then connect that to the VGA input. You could also take the s-video or composite output to a rear screen at same time displayed on the ICC. As the output would have to be set to NTSC, to work on the ICC, the composite and s-video would also be NTSC, so make sure rear screens accept NTSC. The unit is about AU$175 plus AU$45 postage, for total of $220. May not do everything the Blaupankt can do, but is dam cheaper. There was a post around on the video sync specs that the ICC required. Just need to find that and compare to the specs of this unit. Would mount the unit around the area of tissue holder, so buttons are easily reached. Would also like to see about moding it to switch audio, and switch the screen. So, unless I hear reasons not to, will probably buy one in the nest week.
  10. Hi Guys, Been following the thread, have got some parts, and made up the leads, and bought a Nordmende Digital STB. When all connected, I get a picture on the ICC, but the image ir vertically rolling (like in the old days when you had a knob on the back of the TV to stop the rolling) In the STB menu, I have set the following, 50Hz output : PAL 60Hz output : NTSC Scart : RGB When connected to PAL TV via RCA, picture is perfect and still. Connect to the ICC via RGB and get the rolling. Anyone used this box SUCCESSFULLY on the ICC??
  11. mmm, bought one of these after for my non-t XR6, but cant find a suitable harness to connect it :(
