What power do you guys think this turbo would be capable of handling. It has similar specs to the HKS T51r SPL. Here are the specs of the turbo Intake :4 inch Outlet: 2.5 inch Compressor trim: .70A/R Compressor Wheel diameter 76.80mm / 102.35mm Turbine Wheel diameter 64.56mm / 74.12mm Exhaust trim: .81ar Turbine flange type: t4 flange Downpipe flange type : 3 inch v band flange Cooling type: oil and water cooled Any ideas of what power it would support??
Depends what kind of power that you are looking for. First of all get yourself a flash box and that way you can at least get it tuned. That should get you to about 250rwkw. After that in an 03 your prob going to have to do valve springs injectors and intercooler. That should see you around the 300 mark. AFter taht prob turbo work (wastegate and flapper mod). That would see you into 300's. If you search you will find heaps of threads relating to mods to kw output.
I have them. They don't make the car as lumpy as the video that is on you tube. The specs aren't that far off the standard bf cams. Basically they gave me a bit more mid range power. They are harder for tuners to tune but its alot of money just for the wank factor. If I was going for wank factor I would get bigger than the ones I have. Your fuel consumption goes out the window and obviously the bigger you go the more undrivable it gets on the street. I can get a sound clip if you like so you can hear what they sound like.
We could just do a natio run. Easy and fast to organise. Great fun as it has been in the past. What do you guys think?? Could just have it on a Friday/Sat night it the next couple of weeks??
If you are going to run a screamer that's the only thing that you have to modify If you aren't going to run a screamer then the dump pipe will have to be modified so that the wastegate is plumbed back in.
Jut got the video today. Will post a link when I get it onto the computer. I just ran the car up on the transbrake until the gate cracked open. So it is slightly louder than if it was moving Will be up shortly.
You jus need toget a bell housing made, tailshaft and either geta custom cross member made or just modify the one that you already have. The cross member in mine is just a 5 spped manual cros membr modified to take the c4.
