  1. I think Dyno Steve's XR6T had wrapping around the intake tubes, to keep the heat out.
  2. It's pretty easy, all you have to do is use a small flat blade screw driver to ease the circlip out, so the strut will pull off its mount. If the clip comes right off, you have to then press it back onto the strut, but if you do it carefully it will stay on the strut. I have found it's easier to un-hook the strut off the hardcover, and leave the body mount attached, so when you lift off the cover the struts don't get in the way. Then all you need is two people to lift off the cover, lift it up to about 70 degres, and then it will slide back & out. The hardest part is making sure you don't scratch any paint, and finding somewhere to put the cover!
  3. My ute had some brake shudder, at the 30,000 servive the other day they machined the disks, and the difference that it has made is incredible, now it's very smooth, I probably didn't realise how bad it felt before, because over time you get used to it. I'm now getting the QFM pads, for the super-x $55, premium $75 & super premium $95. Because I don't want the shudder back. (I'm going for the premium pads)
  4. You could always come for a 'cruise' up to Brisbane, and hose until your hearts content!

  10. I love the little red Turbo Badge. It is one of the small differences that identifies what we are proud to own. Let em know it's a Turbo, and then it's even better when you waste them. Is removing the badge cheating? :punchhead:

    Blind Spots

I have put on a small blind spot mirror, I got the small rectangular type, put it in the bottom right hand corner of the drivers mirror, and it works, & even looks alright, the rectangular ones don't look out of place.
  12. The utes don't have the auto down feature. I replaced my original ute switch with a turbo sedan switch, and now presto, it has auto down. If you want to go this way, you just have to swap the top facia off the ute switch to the sedan switch base, and throw out the rear door contacts.
  13. I have the Guageworks setup, and mine is staying as is. "If" it's a couple of psi out, for me it doesn't really matter, it's more for an indication of the boost, and while driving you just glance at it anyway. The brake line may not be the 'perfect' line to tap to, but it works pretty well for me.
  14. Around $42k drive away, May 03, XR6 turbo ute, blueprint, SSS Auto, cabin tidy, xr mats, Prestige Audio, scuff plates, mobile phone presenter, Tow Pack, Hardcover & spoiler, mad spats.
  15. Marty wakes up at home with a huge hangover. He forces himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins and a glass of water on the side table. He sits down and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed. Marty looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotless, clean. So is the rest of the house. He takes the aspirins and notices a note on the table "Honey, breakfast is on the stove. I left early to go shopping. Love you." So he goes to the kitchen and sure enough there is a hot breakfast and the morning newspaper. His son is also at the table, eating. Marty asks, "Son, what happened last night?" His son says, "Well, you came home after 3 A.M., drunk and delirious. You broke some furniture, puked in the hallway, and gave yourself a black eye when you stumbled into the door." Confused, Marty asks, "So, why is everything in order and so clean, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me?" His son replies, "Oh that! Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your pants off, you said, "Lady, leave me alone, I'm married!" A self-induced hangover - $100.00 Broken furniture - $200.00 Breakfast - $10.00 Saying the right thing - PRICELESS
  16. Looks like we're all following Bara.. :o
  17. I have added the XR8 filter assembly to mine, and have added the straight through pipes, for all these changes, it depends on who you talk to, wether it is a good or bad thing to do. With the XR8 filter, you can hear the induction, and the straight through pipes give it a louder exhaust note. It doesn't give it a overly noticeable change in power to the car, just sounds better, which results in it feeling better in my opinion. You have to weigh up all the factors, warranty, legality of modifications etc., which there has been thundreds of post on! For me, I'm definitely happy with it. If you do the pipes, keep your muffler, & get new pipes with flanges fitted, so if you don't like it you can change it back. As for the XR8 filter, if you can get it at the right price, do it. Well that's my 2c worth.
  18. That was a great day yesterday, thanks to everyone who helped organise the cruise, it covered some pretty good roads that the XR's love! When's the next one ?
  19. I'm right for any of those dates, just tell me when & where. Aaron.
  20. I had the same problem, with the whine at 95 - 100 km/h. They replaced it at 4000km, and have not had a problem with it since.
  21. 936.7 :banghead:
  22. I agree the joke wasn't in good taste, but if it outraged the small number of people at the reception, then why did they then show it to millions of people of the news, or is it anything for ratings....
  23. Mine was replaced at 4000km, as it whined at 100km/h, no problems at all now.
  24. I'll third that! No problems what so ever & looks good!
  25. I have added the turbo badges to my ute, in exactly the same position, looks as if it came with them. Red Badges over Blueprint. Why be scared to let people know its a Turbo, no need to hide the fact!
