  1. Boy have you got some reading to do! For the Typhoon option, see the following topic, http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...topic=19583&hl= The other easy option is to go for the edit, with 8-10 psi tunes, which should give you between 230-260 rear wheel KW, that is without changing anything else. The other simple mods are a second air intake & replacing the centre muffler (mainly for better sound!). If you have an auto, a transmission cooler is also a good idea. There has been a lot of 'discussion' about injectors, but for these mods the standard injectors seem to be fine, if you want more power then an injector change will be required. But be warned, if you start modifying, you might never stop, need more power, need more power,.......... Aaron.
  2. I have checked my speedo with GPS, and with the original 17 inch wheels, a true speed of 97 km/h, the speedo showed 100 km/h, and with 19 inch mags it reads right, 100km/h = 100km/h on the speedo.
  3. Nick, I've sent you a PM & I'll call you tomorrow to organise times. The Ute needs a custom tune!!!! Aaron.
  4. I've sent Dynowog an e-mail regarding the tuning, you can add another one to the list. Aaron
  5. Why? You're putting a solid brass Tee with a tight fit & good quality hose clamps in the line, which I don't think is a safety issue, now go and have a look at the connections on either end of the hose from factory at the Booster & manifold, there are held on by a small wire crimp! so there must not be much pressure in the line to cause a problem! If you're that concerned, you should be replacing the factory clamps!!!
  6. If you want to leave the dust shield off, you have to paint the disk hubs & support in black, to get rid of the factory 'rusty' look. When you do they look good, and if you do get mags, you are going to have to do it anyway, because mags & the dust shields may look a little strange. Aaron
  7. Don't get me started on 19" rims! They look great, but can have problems in rim buckles & cracks. I have ROH 19" fury rims, & have cracks on the inside lip of three rims & a buckle on the fourth. The rims are 18 months old, & ROH now says they will not replace the rims as they have done a load test & found the rims to be OK, then why are they cracked? Just something to look out for, & I will elaborate on this issue in another thread soon. Aaron
  8. That's exactly what I found by checking with GPS. I was going to get it reset by Ford to 18inch rims which would make it closer, but it's not needed. Aaron
  9. Nokia 3210 Nokia 8210 Nokia 8250 Nokia 6610 Nokia 6230 & now Motorola V3
  10. Mine was the same, they had to use shims to get the alignment right. Might be common from the factory?
  11. When ever I tow the boat, I put back in the factory tune to be on the safe side. There's ample power for towing, & I don't want the tow load, & 10 psi going through the engine. When towing it's not about speed, but safety. The funny thing is, on the way back from skiing, the guys with the 4wd utes, can't keep up with me on the long uphill sections! Aaron.
  12. I tow my ski boat, and I've had no problems. If you put it under load / or go up a hill, put it in performance mode to take out the overdrive, and there are no problems. If you floor it, & use 6psi while towing a boat or heavy load, then you deserve the turbo to blow up. Although you do need the rear view mirror while towing, because without it, you wouldn't even know you're towing 1.5 tonnes.
  13. None apart from the fact that it does great power slides
  14. I'll have to give them another call, I've been told two times that the custom tune is $600, and I even bought the box through them, just couldn't custom tune it initially because of the valve springs.
  15. Do you know how much for the custom tune yet?
  16. The Davies Craig coolers only come with a 3/8 hose, which you have to cut a small section out of the top steel transmission pipe, flare the steel line, & by using the hose & clamps, then re-route through the cooler. By placing it in the top hose, the oil comes from the gearbox, through the radiator, then through the cooler & back to the box. After you have done this, it's best to also check the level of the fluid in the gearbox. I mounted my cooler under the intercooler, with air intakes cut into the plastic shield under the car. I hop this helps. Aaron
  17. Let us know how much for the custom tune, I was told $600. Are you having one 10psi custom tune & the other two left as standard maps?
  18. I received mine in the post today, probably put it in tomorrow, & let you know how it goes.
  19. rwdwkw's Is that the new international standard?
  20. Join the club. My springs were bouncing at 220rwkw, I had them replaced, but haven't been back to get the custom tune yet.
  21. I agree with jetute. I had the straight through pipes on my ute and the sound has good / not too loud, but at slow speeds ~60km/h it did drone just a little bit. I then put on the centre section from jetute when he sold his ute, with the two hot dog mufflers, & there is no drone at all & still sounds good when you put the foot down. Aaron.
  22. Stop complaining! Mine took Seven Months, that is back when they were first released, now that's a wait!!!
  23. Congratulations Dave, and all the best for the day & your future together. Aaron.
  24. $300.00 is the price <{POST_SNAPBACK}> $300.00 is the price - when did you get this price? I don't know then? I bought the edit throught them, they dyno'd my car, but couldn't custom tune until I replaced the valve springs, which I have done now, I re-checked the price for the custom tune with them while I was there, & the reply was they initially quoted $300, but then found it took longer to tune, so $600 it is. Mines stock apart from 2nd CAI & centre muffler removed, so would it take 5 hours on the dyno?? Let me know if it's different. All I can say is, Hurry up Jeff!
  25. For your info, PT are custom tuning the edits for around the $600 mark
