  1. Do you like fish cocktails or Russian caviar?...... Personally, I don't mind fish cocktails and I don't really care about caviar.... Just one of the reasons I fitted a set of Pedders coilovers to my car.....probably the best 1200 odd bucks Ive ever spent....and that was all four corners too... With all due respect though, whilst the Koni's are a top shelf item....for an "affordable" XR upgrade, the Pedders setup is hard to go past... In reality, it all comes down to what your looking for VS how much you want to spend.....
  2. For perfomance in a daily driver, you'd be hard pushed to go past an Option3 IMO. Ive had one in my car for 70,000kms now and its as good now as the day I installed it and there are other members here who have up to 350rwkws with no dramas... One word of warning however....they use an organic disc and don't take kindly to being just "dropped"....but then again, neither do your unis or c/v's either.... You can punch through the gears to your hearts content, do track days no problem.....but if your gonna' be a regular at the dragstrip, I'd get something tougher.
  3. Yep, sure will...just keep an eye on this forum mate..... And welcome to the site too......
  4. All in all not such a bad run considering someone who shall remain nameless wimped out at the last minute Even so, the 11 of us who did make it had a good time.....always great to catch up guys (and Sam).....

    Top Speeds

155mph in the dragster....not real fast.....but it got there in less than 8 secs....
  6. My intake looks daggy too....has anybody used anything like sprayon mag wheel cleaner on theirs?.....
  7. Wonder how they'll react to Gizzy's drifting effort after today's race??...... I missed the first half of the telecast today......watched the 6 hour production car race from Phillip Island on Speedweek instead... Much more entertaining......
  8. Stories you just wouldn't believe mate.....but this isn't the forum for it.
  9. Just wondering what everybody elses worst dating dramas have been......I've had a few so I'll share this one.... Few years back,a mate, myself and our girls came back to our cars after a movie in the city. We walk up and theres this dude sitting on the hood of my mates then brand new black Corvette talking with a few of his friends... Peter sees this guy on his bonnet and goes off (as you'd expect)..... Words were exchanged, then a bit of push and shove and finally Peter just knocks this guy out..... Now that would have been ok if it had ended there, but his mates got involved, then I got involved, their girls got involved so our girls got dragged into it as well so then theres about 7 or so people brawling on the footpath and people were just walking by like it was a regular thing ....couple of em' actually started cheering for the girls.....can you believe it!!! Ok, so we all got rounded up by the cops, into the paddy wagon and down to the station to "sort it all out", well, all except the guy Pete smacked who got taken to the hospital with concussion. But what really pissed me off was that I'd been hanging out for months to go out with this girl, first date and she was just gorgeous, So what happens?....... She gets into a brawl, cops a black eye and some scratches, ruins $200 dress, gets hauled down to the police station in a paddy wagon, and then Ive got to take her home to her Christian parents at 3.30am (I'd promised her old's that I'd have her home by midnight), Never could work out why I never saw her again
  10. I was 17 when I got my licence, first car and first shag in that order..... She was a girl that Id gone to school with and even though it only lasted a few minutes it was the start of a trend that has continued throughout my life. First wife and I were swingers for years and now I couldn't even count the number of women Ive been with..... I also do admin/moderate on an international sexual discussion forum.....
  11. Right now Im running Yokohama Advans on the front and Nexen 6000's on the back.....same size all round.... The Yoko's are fairly soft and make the car turn in real nice....while the Nexens are a bit harder and seem to cope better on the rear...
  12. Ok.....count me in.....can I bring a friend
  13. We got a pretty good rollup for this one last year.....so count me in too.....
  14. I have a friend who has just bought an XR6 N/A sedan..... When she went to the dealer, she basically found what she was looking for but it didnt have leather interior so they said they would give her a leather interior as part of the deal. I suspect that they are going to swap over the interior from another car.....so it got me wondering.... Just what is involved in changing out one interior for another?....is just the seats?....door trims?.....or more stuff as well?
  15. Ahh Haa....I was wondering where we'd lost a couple by the time we got to the pie shop ....Danny and Louise disappeared as well....was good to see you guys... A damp night with intermittent rain all the way....but we started with 16 or so and had 18 at Albion park.... Pass was damp and it showed....got up there at a reasonable rate with Peter's XR5 glued to my rear bar.... Was great to see a few newbies to.....
  16. Just checked the radar and it looks pretty good guys......see you there yep...should be at Albion Park around 9 or so....
  17. Bummer...I was hoping to catch up too Rob because I don't know when I'll get to see you again after you move to the outpost Key word here is "possible".....don't write it off just yet mate.... Meet up at Albion park ok... No worries.....next time mate.....
  18. Pretty straightforward actually......just make sure you label EVERYTHING you disconnect so you dont end up with a big jigsaw puzzle when you go to put it all back together again.
  19. Yep....bringing my grandson to run the radio for me too.....gotta' teach em' young you know... be great to see the pair of you guys too.... Yeah....I vaguely remember you from somewhere..... Be great to catch up Nick.....
  20. sorry mate....accidently deleted your post..... yeah....those CB's will do the job.....its always better when you can hear the chatter and be warned of stuff coming up ahead.... Too right....I'll be pissed if we get rained out two runs in a row.....
  21. Look what the cat dragged in!!..... Good to see you Rob....look forward to catching up mate....
  22. 330rwk with a manual.....Id be guessing low 12's without too much fuss.... Drop the rear tyres to about 25-30 psi, fronts 40+.....with the traction control turned OFF....into the waterbox and do burnout in second gear to get some wheel speed up so you dont collect water in the treads and have it dripping out from the grooves on the startline..... Launch RPM will vary depending on your mods and tune but as a starting point, try dialing up around 3 grand or so and go from there. Stock F6 clutches aren't too bad but they don't like being just "side-stepped" off the line (neither do your C/V's)......initially, try "walking" the car off the startline rather than just dropping it and feed it the power as it can use it.....it's really no different to making a fast getaway from the lights only your gonna' be using more RPM than you would on the street.... From there on it's really a matter of finding the "sweet spot" in your powerband and hitting the shift points at just the right point without hitting the limiter(usually between 5-500rpm mark)....again, this may vary with your tune and mods....make every shift a "positive" one, especially second to third ( it's easy to miss)... You'll have bundles of fun trying different techniques of launch and shift points to find what's best for you and the car.... Come back to us and let us know how she went ok.....
