Lowering my car......worst single thing I ever did!..... :stink: Stuffs exhaust systems, gets hung up on driveways, scrapes front and rear undertrays......and if you put a couple of mates in the back, its even worse!! And for what??....some people look and say'.....Oh' wow, its "lowered"....big deal?....some think it improves the handling.....bull!.....I put it back to stock with a set of adjustable coilovers and have had no problem keeping up with others who's cars almost scrape the ground through twisty roads.....

Something else you might consider is the space factor.......it takes a lot more room to strip and have enough working space around an F series than it does with a Falcon... Anything takes a lot more space when its in bits.....

Ok , I give up.....who or what is a bloody emmachizit FFS's??..... As for your second comment....yeah your right....that's why Im gonna do it with a small group that I know won't chicken out at the last minute..... As for the observation run.....Ive done some work on it today.....still have more to do yet.....will post it up within the next few weeks and see what sort of response we get... Depending on the numbers we get, I may even post it on another forum as well......we'll see........

I have done some checking regarding driving courses.....however, most of them are "tiered', meaning that they want everyone to start at basic level before progressing to a more "advanced" course. This may be true of some but I feel that many here could go straight into a more advanced course with out having to shell out the money for the basic courses first.....I'd like to know what others think about this...? I am in the process of setting up the observation run and hope this is well supported.....we will see...

Who's interested in a meetup at Harrys on Saturday night....about 8-9.00pm or so.? Maybe an impromptu cruise to wherever later on?..... Anybody interested?.....

Im looking for some feedback on what the members here would like as far as future events go....while we've had good success and rollups for our nightime deals....I feel that while it's a great bit of road....Mac Pass is starting to get a bit old.... Some ideas Ive had include..... Track days.....? Wakefield park has "Speed off the Street" days during the week and select weekends.....however, while these events are heaps of fun.....they have been difficult to organise in the past due to many jumping on the bandwagon with confirmations only to wimp out for various reasons when crunch time comes around. Advanced driver courses......? Ian Luff and another mob at Eastern Creek run advanced driving courses that can improve "anybody's" skill level.....but we would need definite numbers...not "maybes" to make these days work..... When you have to pay a deposit on the two suggestions above, its makes life very dfficult when those who do turn up find they have to pay extra to cover for those who dont bother fronting up. Daytime cruises.....? I have had a (observation run) daytime cruise in mind for sometime now.....but when I asked for expressions of interest some time ago, there didn't seem to be much interest? I feel that this would have a lot of appeal to those who'd like to bring their missus and kids out for a cruise since it isn't really a "spirited" style deal.....basically consisting of driving a set course and answering questions along the way to a destination (Symbio Zoo at Helensburgh or Woronora Dam) for a BBQ?....that would have some appeal to everybody. I'd really like to know your thoughts on this stuff guys.....and depending on interest shown, we can get more events happening.....

Agreed 100%.....Ive had mine for 35000kms now with no dramas at all.... The only time Ive seen others have drama is when they haven't been set up right.....and that'll happen regardless of the brand..

I picked up the turbo from Precision Turbos.....went home and fitted it and took the car to Joe's.... Unfortunately, the guy at Precision didn't put enough preload on the 12lb actuator that he fitted so Joe couldn't tune it properly :( With the Snowy cruise on we ran out of time to pull the turbo back off and reset it so Joe was kind enough to put in a safe temporary tune so we could make it to Tumut and although it was down on power, the car went like a gem. This weekend, I'll be taking it off and taking it back to Joe to adjust the preload, then refitting it and going back to Joe's to get it tuned properly......can't wait....

Its all good mate(k31th).....that Honda was a pain in the ass....to the point where, at one stage, I was poking my nose out from behind the 4wd (which was tooling along reasonably well till we caught the Honda btw) and flashing my Hibeam at the damn Honda......even the 4WD was getting impatient with her.....:(

Thanks Gary for another great run through the high country.... Even though the car was down on power, had an awesome time (especially in the wet stuff)..... Thanks to all those who supported it this year......only bummer for me was missing the excitement on Sat. night....

I heard from the tuner today......the mob that rebuilt the turbo didnt put enough preload on the new actuator did they He says it'll run.....just not as good as I'd hoped is all.....pain in the ass.....ugh My rear tyres are....well, getting down there......but they ought to last till we get back....I hope

Wow.....fancy a job as a cruise controller? That looks impressive mate..... Were you thinking a daytime deal or night run?..... Are there any places we can stop for a bite or anything?...

Im taking the turbo out of my car for a rebuild.....so I thought I might take the opportunity to replace the drivers side engine mount while its a little more accessible. However, due to the turbo to manifold bolts being siezed.....Ive got to take the manifold and turbo out as an assembly..... My problem being.....I can't access the bolts for the mount without taking off the turbo......and cant remove the turbo without undoing the H brace at the mount....:/ Any pointers on this??.....

And that's exactly what I intend to do this Saturday...... want to get my car running as well as possible for the Snowy cruise next month.....
