Im in the process of modding my BF Mk1 XR6T and planned to do premium brake setup,27mm front sway bar, exhaust (centre muffler) first, CAI, Typhoon IC, then flash tuner edit and leave it at that. Figured that should give me a nice streeter that goes ok,handles ok and stops ok.. I dont want to anything on the car, apart from the brakes, that I cant "undo" when the lease expires or I sell it.

Does anyone know where I can get a set of Typhoon rear wing struts? I havent tried genuine(bet they'd be worth an arm and a leg)...... Does someone make them non-genuine? or have a used set?

Exactly right mate .....family first...then the rest Hope it all works out ok for you and family Dan. -
Hopefully we won't get any of that R... stuff whilst the Summer Nationals are on. If it does R... then Sunday may be used. If we finish racing on the Sat then me and the young bloke are on for the cruise If any one else from the forum is going to the drags, drop into the pits and say g'day. Were in the Modified pit area with a blue & white '68 Bedford Transporter and the dragster on the left. ← Now if we'd been smart little forum members, we could have got a group together and shared a corporate box The only way to watch the drags, and Top Fuel with all group 1 qualifying under lights on Friday night........maybe something to think about for the next big meet As for us? I'd love to do the Southern Highlands but I'm working at the drags all Thursday,Friday and Sat. till about midnight each day so it all depends wether my missus and I can get our tired ol sorry ass's out of bed early enough on Sun. morning

Ive got a few disaster stories..... Years ago one of my friends was tuning a 360 Valiant Charger (remember them) on a chassis dyno, when the throttle return spring jumped off.......it was just sheer luck he was standing beside it and not in front of it I was sitting in the lunchroom when I heard the engine go to max revs then the screech of tyres as it jumped off the rollers. raced out in time to see the car ,with terrified apprentice at the wheel, do a huge burnout through the factory on its way towards the back wall! Apprentice just froze with fear and didnt even think to turn off the key. Had to go down to Kennards and get every accroprop they had because due to Charger sized hole in the wall the building (brick)was declared unstable. This happened back in about late seventies and, even back then, the damage bill (including the Charger) was still about $60000

Don't get me wrong, I still think he's up pretty high on the scale of f*ckwitism ← Now that's a classic saying..... IVE DONE THAT!!!!!! fixes em' every time doesnt it ..... Chick that used to work next door always parked her car so close to the driveway we couldnt get the race car trailer in Gave us attitude when we asked her not to park there (only on Mondays mind you) and started doing it on purpose just to piss us off, so we got out the floor jack and wheeled it about 50mtrs down to the lights then left it in the middle of the intersection..... She never parked there again

Cruise: Up The Old Highway And Back Down Putty Rd

What a great day.....no other word to describe it Great roads, people ,cars, nearly got pinched by the cops, Ok, I'll admit it...Im sure I was the one he turned around for.... Rapid had just driven away from me going up through some hilly stuff and I come out on the straight and he's like waay down the road so I wound it up to about 150ks to catch up quick when radio goes "cop" and even though I got off it he still glared at me as he went past and hit his brakes. If Id been on my own, he'd have done me..no question... I think it was only because there was about 14 odd cars between us when he turned around in the end it was just all too hard and we got away with it...*lucky* Other than that little scare we had a top day...my wife enjoyed herself and her observational humour can be a crackup at times....... when we all slowed right down for the dirt section she says"looks like a group of old ladies hitching up their skirts to walk over a puddle" followed by "or a bunch of kids walking over a lawn covered in bindies" On an earlier occasion, we came off a ramp and accelerated up the hill,Jeff and Saleen pulled out and rocketed past then the F6 and a couple of XRs, after the Escort did the same thing we went from 3rd in the queue to 3rd last in the space of about 500mts and she turns to me and says "You know... you've really got to get an edit for this car!! Might be hooked me thinks..... Our thanks to all who helped make this deal the success it was and make us so welcome, this might have been our first cruise but it certainly wont be the last.. -

Probably cause it doesnt look any different to any other XR6 in Bionic, missus calls it "dogball blue" for obvious reasons, and just to confuse you, where getting different number plates next week.. putting my wifes 5 digit black and whites on it from our written off XR8 Will check EBay tonight and Dick Smith for radio tomorrow. Our first outing with XR6 Turbo club on Sunday, only know one member so far and that was a fellow drag racer who put me onto this site... think we might know quite a few more on Sunday night..... -

Ok, We'll be in it, dont have a CB though...just figured I'd chase everyone else. -
Nah, Im just plain ol' Bionic..... So how about it Robbo...whats happening next Friday night??
-
10 cars behind you?.....when? Ive only just joined up on this forum and havent been on a cruise with you guys yet. Only had my T for 3 weeks... that's why Im so keen to meet up with some of you guys. Its true, some parts of Sir Bertram Stevens Drive resemble a goat track due to lack of maintenance but as a whole its not such a bad run if you just dont get too excited on the rough bits...having said that, if your still not keen on it, then I guess we'll just have to come back up through Jamberoo as you suggested Look forward to meeting you Saleen.....
-
Behind the high school eh' I used to live in Kemp Ave, then we bought a house down in Marshall Rd on the other side of the Hwy. Well you could always go slower and we'll wait for you at Stanwell Tops.... Bear in mind its just a cruise, not a race.
-
So whens the next one Rob? I'd certainly be up for a late night run down the coast.....
-
that's weird, I could adjust it in my previous BA XR8 Mk2...it had prem. sound and my BF has the same deal and it wont let me? Mmmm..great mysteries of the world... Thanks Loopism, answered my question...

Hackett... game on, I'm Evatt. ← Just what we need!!! Another genius Please read my signature.

Guys, get the terminology right OK... STREET RACING IS NOT DRAG RACING Its hard enough when the media can't get it right and we seem to cop the blame for every tool out there who wraps himself around a pole. Let alone the ammunition it gives our opponents.... Thought you guys should know better, I know its frustrating, believe me! but wev'e honestly got nothing to gain by making a nuisance of ourselves,at this stage anyway. The guys in Canberra are currently considering another rally within the city centre and I will notify all when we finalise a date. Dont worry...if the time comes for more action ll let you all know

I have BFMk1 XR6T with prem. sound and the audio on the park sensors is really low, with radio on you can hardly hear it and the sensors in my previous BAMk2 were much more noticable. Manual says you can turn the volume up and I have followed the ritual described therein with no success. Manual says it only applies to "some" models..... Would have thought a car with Prem. sound would have this feature.

Im going down and back on Saturday, just to see my mates car at its first show and have a quick squizz round the trade show.
-
And I can tell you that we havent given up yet either.... Just wait and see what happens next... Canberra drag racing is far from dead.

Back in the early 80s Slammin' Sammy Miller ran 3.98secs at about 400 odd MPH in his rocket powered Funny car. However after several ugly crashes NHRA has since banned rocket powered vehicles due to safety concerns and skyrocketing insurance costs.
