  1. By the way.....this will be a dry weather only deal too....if it rains again, or even looks like it, call me soft, but Im out till another night had enough of the wet last Friday
  2. Ok...Monday night it is....8.30pm for a 9.00pm start at Caltex Heathcote...we will do the same route only round the other way this time... Depending on how long we spend sitting on our backsides at Maccas, the route shouldnt take longer than about an hour and a half actual driving time so we should all still be tucked up in bed at a reasonable hour. While I appreciate that having as many members as possible is a favourable deal with most cruises, it showed last Friday night, (and the rain made it even worse), that the more runners there is, the harder it is to keep everyone together as a group and yet still maintain enough safe distance between the cars as some of our members are a little more ....err.... conservative... than others....and, to be honest, I dont feel that Monday night will be like your average Sunday arvo family deal...get my meaning.. Originally, this idea started when Steve (mercuryturbo) said he was going to go on his own, not wanting him to get lonely, I said I would go with him, then others wanted to come along too, which Ive got no problem with, provided they realise that there are stages on this route where we can give our cars a bit of a squirt with relative safety (whilst still using common sense of course) and having to stop and wait for stragglers can be a little bit frustrating..... Over to you guys..... Mercury, myself, senna, rapid, ryan and maybe Iconic and Robbo will be there..who else? Oh, and ravenhard....I will be putting a couple more of these night deals together, especially as summer gets closer and the weather gets more favourable...so dont feel left out ok...
  3. Good news Pat.....pleased to hear hes on the mend and will be back out enjoying himself with the rest of us soon.... As for our mid week run, the weather report is not much chop for this week....so how about one night next week?...hopefully, the rain wont still be hanging around.....
  4. Ok, since mercuryturbo came up with the idea, Ill let him pick the date alright. When I have the date, Ill set a route and PM all who have shown interest.... Actually, now I think about it.....why not do the Friday night cruise in reverse.... not reverse gear silly.....I mean go down the coast to W/gong Maccas, then up Ousley, out to Wilton, then Appin and back to Bulli...get the picture..... Since its mid week and we have to work the next day, this would also give guys like Senna and Chris the chance to leave the cruise and get home at a more reasonable hour instead of driving back to the Shire and having to go back home from there you know....just a thought... Im open to suggestion ok.... Five runners already eh'......wait till Robbo reads this..... might be six.....
  5. Ok...let me know and Ill come with you ok.....
  6. Yeah, I was getting a little understeer into some of the tight downhill stuff.....then still picking up rear wheels on the climbs. (should have backed both bars off instead of just the rear one).....and despite fiddling with pressures recently, I still dont have the wet weather confidence in these Marangonis yet. Im so bummed that it rained on Friday night..... When I did the reccy on this route several weeks ago, it was dry as and it really was quite a good little run.... but the rain just stuffed it you know.... To see how much it slowed us up.....the section between Stanwell Tops and Waterfall Station is 17.5kms.... On Friday night it took us just on 20 mins to go point to point...... When I did it in the dry during the reccy.....14 mins , (although admittedly I did have the finger out)
  7. Had it been dry, I would have turned it off....but it was raining and after having to drive like a granny for most of the route, but when I got to the causeway.....I figured Id give it a squirt up the hill...... Wait till we do it in the dry......
  8. Sorry to butt in its Robbo here Started a topic from all the good stuff out of the last night cruise. Feel free to get "Mini" spur of the moment cruises started. After looking like it might even start to clear on Fri evening.....soon as we got into our cars to leave......down it comes..... and stayed that way for most of the run There were a few spots where I saw the T/C light and a couple times she wanted to understeer in the tight stuff.....but it was still all good though Im glad I backed off that rear sway bar during the week Shame about Ryan's P/S hose.....and the cops on the coast road....sitting just under the speed limit, so I had to hassle him along a little bit, then he pulled over but I didnt realise he'd started off again behind myXR6 .....sorry mate... Despite the soggy night, it was great to see such a good turnout and thanks for the support guys.....even met some new friends.... Was talking with Rob afterwards about maybe making this a regular once a month thing.....varying the route of course....what do you reckon?
  9. Hasnt rained down here for a while so I figure tonights run is still on......excellent.....see you all at the Caltex and dont forget your CBs guys......
  10. I'll save em' for another day All of the above.....we do like variety The only thing wrong with the map is that we dont go up through Helensburgh on the way home....the route is through National Park to Waterfall causeway then left up the hill to Waterfall station and up the Princes Highway to Heathcote.
  11. Princes Highway at Heathcote....there is a Caltex on both sides of the highway...... We meet at the southbound one and finish at the northbound one.
  12. Ok....so provided the weather isn't completely crap...this is the route that I had in mind .... Leave Caltex Heathcote at 9.00pm, down the old Princes Hwy to Bulli, turn right onto Appin Rd and drive to Appin, turn left at the T intersection at the end and head off down through the gorge, across the reservoir and up into Wilton. Left onto Picton Rd and follow back to Mt Ousley, down to Nth W/gong Maccas (beside the big roundabout) After leaving Maccas we come back up the coast road to Stanwell, national park to Waterfall then on to the Caltex at Heathcote (northbound) to say our goodbyes then home. Its not what you'd call a long run but at least its a chance for us to catch up and give our cars a bit of a run. Ive decided not to ask the HSV guys this time, just keeping it between us .... I did catch up with some of them at their cruise last Sunday and they were pretty keen to come for a run with us.....so what I might do is set up a night run through Jamberoo and Mac. Pass sometime in the future depending on what you guys think...will discuss with the rest of you on Fri. night ok..... So that's about it....heres hoping the weather is good on Friday Rob , can you add another to the list...my soninlaw will come along as well....(Fairmont Ghia)
  13. I was the one who came up with this one....if only to prove that its not just Robs cruises that get washed out So can we assume that your gonna join us Daz?....provided the weather Gods smile upon us that is...
  14. Damn...that little BBQ deal he had set up was the ducks guts......hadnt seen him in a while but didnt know he was that crook..... He was a popular entrant on all the cruises he came out on.....so if hes in hospital, maybe we should send him a card or a couple of us could pay the poor bugger a visit or something...... Do you know where he is Pat?
  15. Ive got a bf mk1 and Im looking for a set (3) of typhoon wing struts....Id even consider a complete Typhoon wing if it came at the right price.... They have told me on another forum that BA and BF are different..is this true? Tried Fibresports at Taren Point but wasnt overly impressed with their attitude(or their product for that matter)... Surely somebody else makes these things up......
  16. I wouldn't stress too much....I'll be the leader and mine's not even edited....you could put bedsprings in your's and you'd still do me like a dinner Looking forward to..errr....catching up with you on the night ok
  17. Agreed..... I was going to leave it till next weekend and see how much response we get from the members here before posting it up on LS1 to gauge reaction.....they might tell us to nick off...who knows??
  18. Photoshop is your friend and Im sure someone could show you what they'd look like on your car..... VE or not...they all look pretty good to me...... :Welcome to the Bionic club:

Where do they draw the line as far as needing/having to have one on your boat? Does it go on the size of the boat......or where you take it...or both?
  20. You know....Ive seen some stupid statements made on this forum at times, and the above is right up there..... Sure we all bitch and grizzle when we get done for doing the wrong thing but can you imagine where we'd be without the Police Service......seriously Hulk....put your brain in gear before making idiotic posts like this.... I say let em' have air cond, and the tools (inc. the cars) they need to do the job.....and a pay rise as well......if only for the crap jobs and the dropkicks they have to deal with on a daily basis. Wait till the next time someone does the wrong thing by you and you need their help..... Get a grip man....
  21. Congratulations on your purchase.....look forward to another addition on the next cruise
  22. I dont know if its relevent or not but I had a set of these in one of the engines (351 Boss) we ran in the dragster. Seemed like a quality product...never gave us any bother.....and we used to run about 550hp and spun em' to 8500rpm without any drama......
  23. You could also try Newgas Taren Point (down the end of Atkinson Rd on the right).... Ask for Brian.....and tell him I sent ya'......
  24. With all due respect RSPEC....I think the idea is to "lay your patch" AT the drags not "leaving" the drags if you know what I mean....that's just asking for trouble IMO....especially bearing in mind that from the gates at WSID to either end of Ferrers road the speed limit is posted at 60ks. Whilst I realise that within any given group of people, you will always get the guy who will go out of his way to ask for trouble....I feel that targeting people who have done the right thing by taking their car to the races then get pulled over for having mods done to their car, while they have done nothing wrong is just plain unfair as far as Im concerned......
  25. Thanks Pat....while Ive had several complaints from others outside this forum, I figured that since a few of our members here are regulars out there, Id put it up for discussion to find out if anyone here has experienced problems as well.....
