An 08' Tornado with only 4k on the clock for 39k.....wouldn't be a hard decision for me.....
  2. Err...guys...wer'e talking about a truck that weighs four and a half tonnes, with the aerodynamics of a housebrick and a centre of gravity as high as the Harbour bridge ok.... Now on a good day, with a downhill run, the wind behind you and the windows wound up.... You can wind her right out to about 110ks flat out....how do fang something like that? I took it for the wheel alignment today and showed the guys the torn up draglink....they were just shocked
  3. Late last week I started to feel a bit of a vibration in the steering on my truck (4 1/2 tonne Mazda/Trader) After having a look under it, all "looked" ok.... , I figured it was just alignment / balance and had booked it in tomorrow (Weds) to get it all checked..... This morning Im on way out to Kurnell when another customer calls from Taren Point so I decide to drop in on him first before I go to Kurnell. While parking out front of his shop, I hear this noise like a pipe hitting the ground, only to get out and see...... That the righthand tie rod end had pulled the thread right out of the draglink and it had just fallen on the ground!!!!....instant NO steering!! Now this happened while I was parking thank God......if that guy hadn't called me.....I would have been on Captain Cook Drive doing 80 odd kph with all other trucks when it let go..... I shudder when I think what the result could have been......real ugly for sure.... That was my lucky escape.....how about sharing some of yours?
  4. Ok, I'll come clean.....we have two large huntsman spiders living in our home... Sometimes visitors see them and freak out a little before we tell em' their just pets They keep the mozzies down and don't bother us unless they walk over your face in the middle of the night OR...the buggers decide to walk across the front of the TV while there's motorsports on.....
  5. now theres' a mental picture I don't need.....
  6. ...sounds more like a list of incurable diseases....
  7. You guys really need to harden up.......its only a huntsman, he won't hurt you. If ever I've had to move one.....just put a cup over him and slide a sheet of paper under it then take him out and put him in the garden....too easy...I'd never hurt one on purpose..
  8. Yep.....that's "definately" waaay out west I guess..... Have you found many other enthusiasts out that way Loco?
  9. Now now...lets not descriminate.....I bombed out on the Bathurst deal as well cause I wanted to get the cash together for my clutch install..... As for a run out Mittagong or Blue Mtns way......why not....Ill be in it...
  10. Anywhere we can have a good run with not much traffic and as little attention as possible from the police... If I can leave my place at Sutherland and be home by say...1- 2 in the morning then Id probably be in it....
  11. *rubs hands together*.....Ok, what about dates.....in the past wev'e had Friday night deals but a couple of months back, we had one on a Monday night.....excellent run with almost zero traffic....just a suggestion mind you..... Then there's the question of where to go.....recently, we've had a few round the Southern Sydney-Woolongong-Jamberoo-Mac. Pass areas....the roads are great for....err...cruising...and I'd go back down there in a heartbeat....but since there's a lot of guys who live out west, I wouldn't mind going out there for a change...provided somebody out there can set up a run. Failing that, I'll get Rob to check his roster and we'll organise another Mac. Pass deal if the support is there... -------------------- In order for every body to have a good time, a few rules have been implemented. Failure to abide by these rules will ensure you are not invited to future events held by FordXR6Turbo.com. The reasons for these rules are: Safety - We don't want to put any of our members, and the general public in any danger. Public Perception - We do not want the Ford XR6 Turbo community to face the same ridicule and stereotypes other car communities face. The rules are simple: Obey all laws whilst on the cruise; this means no speeding, no overtaking over double lines etc... Any breaches will be reported to the local police. There is a designated cruise leader who will lead the way and set the correct pace for all cruise members. Use the Buddy system; always make sure you can see the car behind you. This will give people behind you an indication on where to turn and to make sure nobody gets lost or left behind. CB Radios; if you don't have one, follow the maps and directions given out. If you do have one, please limit chatter during the twisty parts of the cruise. This will allow the cruise leader to relay information about road conditions, upcoming obstacles, etc. efficiently. By attending this cruise you agree not to hold FordXR6Turbo.com, its Administrators, Moderators, Cruise Organisers, or Owners responsible/liable for any damage and/or grief sustained (simply; if you stuff up it's your fault, not ours). If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask before the cruise.
  12. Mine does exactly the same thing.....and often after sitting at the lights in neutral, I find I have to just dip the clutch and spin the cluster to get into first gear. My car has a "notch" sometimes when upshifting into third...had it since day one....but last week I had a Herrod sixshift installed and it improved the shift no end.
  13. Yep...there's nothing like killing two little birdies with one big boulder eh' Ok...so whens the next night run happening?
  14. Absolutely Dags....despite having thousands of these fruitcakes running around....there's now three less... and that's got to be a good thing right..... When Bryant went nuts at Port Arthur.....I suggested a national lottery (with all proceeds to the victims) for the chance to pull the trigger on the cretin....and nobody took it up ....go figure Its true, ....they shouldn't have shot em' either.......burning at the stake would have been much more appropriate
  15. Its about time these cretins got their just desserts..... I'd love to see the looks on their faces when they finally realise that the promised afterlife with Allah and the 70 odd virgins was all BULL....
  16. I think a couple of the newbees were caught out by the pace initialy.....after giving the rest of the gang about a two kilometre head start while Carly searched for her radio....we were on their tail by Jamberoo On the way back, myself and Slymeat had a birds eye view of GhiaGirl all over the back of poor Rob's ute like a bad fitting shirt. Short but sweet, but we all had a good time and you are right Aaron, another Mac. Pass run sounds real good.. Thanks to all who turned up and to Aaron for organising it.....was good to catch up mate
  17. Wow...4 times a week He must have had leg muscles like Wile E. Coyote on steriods.....
  18. What a capital idea.....dropkicks would think twice next time...
  19. Thanks mate..... *goes to Ebay and searches for knobs*
  20. Are the knobs in Typhoons different ? Actually, it was Mrs. Bionic that broke it, not me......she said the rubber bit around the top came adrift.
  21. When I get excited, yes, it does get a pretty good workout..... Hangon,...that didn't come out right....
  22. The gearknob on my six speed manual has broken..... Does FPV market a different one for their cars? I know I could always go and buy a Momo or something like that, but if theres a factory FPV one...I'd rather get one of those you know.
  23. I did it several times years ago when I was cycling for sport....used to be an annual event.....never won it though At least its not Woolongong to Sydney....its heaps easier to ride down Ousley than up it
  24. Yep....I'm in too......always in for a run ...... and GhiaGirl may join us as well...but she'll confirm ok....
