  1. Im gonna nick off on Thursday to Valla Beach and stay up there with a mate till Tuesday...... Looking forward to it too.....no mobile reception..... Ahh.....the serenity
  2. Bastards......never a Rottweiller round when you need one....... Hope the watch at least comes back to you Pat....its the sentimental stuff that hurts the most
  3. Now theres an OH&S nightmare.......
  4. Doh....for some reason, I was thinking V8......sorry guys As an aside though, Ive got a mate who bought an alloy block for his XR8..... Weighing the car before and after......its now 50kgs lighter on the front end and, (weight wise), comes in just a tad lighter than an iron block XR6 turbo.... With both blocks on the factory floor....the alloy one could be lifted with one hand......while the iron version took two men and a chiropractors appointment......
  5. With all this talk about who was slowing who up...... It was GhiaGirl who showed us all up on the way to Kiama..... Downright embarrassing when youv'e got to ask your daughter to slow down so the rest of us could catch up
  6. Just so we're comparing "apples with apples".......... Does anyone know the exact weight variance between them?
  7. Yeah...there was a lot of laughter on the night.... Almost choked on my coffee....twice
  8. Brief overview of last night........ Great night with no rain......bloody big screw in Nick's front tyre but it hung in there for the night.....top run through nasho and down to Fairy Meadow.....getting lost in Shellharbour after missing the turn GhiaGirl's place for coffee.....Jamberoo road to the blowhole at Kiama wow..... Andrew's (yellow ute) description of chasing us down Jamberoo road I think everybody had a great time.....was good to meet Tab and put a face to the name Top night guys.....must do this one again
  9. Really Buf......you've got such a way with words
  10. Pioneer motoring journalist Peter Wherrett passed away today at 72 after a battle with cancer. The Australian motoring fraternity owes a lot to Peter, he was one of the first motoring writers to have a regular column in a major Sydney newspaper, was the first to have a dedicated motoring TV show (Torque), competed at Bathurst on several occasions and was a respected advanced driver trainer.
  11. Walked away from the computer and it wouldn't let me edit the post..... So, do we have any set route for this deal?.....or are we just gonna follow our noses? When I said "hell yeah".....I thought it was going to be a little mid week getogether with just a few of us But now its on a Friday.....there's already 6 comfirmed...and once others read the thread, there'll be even more So where do we draw the line between a "cruise" and an "unofficial night run?
  12. Beat me to it.......I'll be there, but I think it would be better if we left a little later.....just cuts down the traffic is all. Im not sure theres much to see in W/gong at 9.30 or so on a Weds. night though.......
  13. Hell yeah.....pick a night No sh*t Sherlock.......you should have felt the heat coming from his front rotors For both yours and your cars' sake......I'd be doing something about it sooner rather than later mate.... For the record.....MT and I went for a little cruise Weds. night before last....... He followed me down the old highway to Bulli and then I followed him up the coast road and into nasho..... Steve gets on the radio to say he's running out of brake pedal.......so we stop at the causeway to let them cool down a bit......and we stand there for about half an hour or so...., talking cars, sniffing each others brake rotors ( when telling Mrs. Bionic about the night she just shook her head and said it must be a "guy" thing ).....and since I left my headlights on while we were waiting.......get in to leave and get click, click, click Fortunately, Steve had a set of jumper leads and got me going again....... Despite his brake dramas...and my own stupidity.......we still had a good run though
  14. Dennis......brought his son along and even though the HWP was picking on him over the colour of his parklight bulbs at Maccas......they had a good time and will back for the next one. Hopefully in the dry this time......
  15. ..Thanks Buf......it was starting to wear a bit thin......
  16. I think you'll find it was a Cobra that Shelby built for Bill Cosby...... When he picked it up...he looked at the dash and was real impressed to see that speedometer started at zero, then went all the way up too "200mph".....and under the 200 there was still more room and the words "OH WOW"......
  17. Thanks Pat....will send him a PM
  18. Can anybody recommend an IT repairer in Sutherland Shire? I think my computer has a virus and wont work...... Normally, I'd just run out and buy a new one, but there's a lot of stuff I'd like to retrieve from mine before I do... Can anyone help with this?
  19. Gee' thanks Nick......your all heart *makes mental note to nominate XR64LT as official photographer on the next cruise*
  20. Not that I know of.....don't recollect seeing anybody with a camera, The HWP guys had one, but we didn't want them to take our picture
  21. Theres a suggestion......how about a new "G" spec badge ?.... To be prominently displayed on the drivers door during the next cruise.....
  22. No doubt the moderators are working on your new signatures as we speak
  23. And why do you think I chose to take the cruise through the town centre eh' What started off in soggy conditions with 18 starters turned into reasonable deal as the roads began to dry out going down to Fairy Meadow. And little bit of fog around Douglas Park wasn't that bad.....we still made it to Mt. Annan with only 12 runners left. All in all, not a bad run.....but believe me.....wev'e got to do it in the dry one night From a cruise leaders point of view.....I felt it was a bit of shemozzle at times with the field spread out like brown's cows to the point where my CB couldn't reach the rear gunner.....the interference caused by somebody playing with their squelch button that near drove us all nuts.....people who's Mum's never told them to "go" BEFORE they get in the car and have to stop for a quick slash by the roadside.....and then my CB died just before the end of the cruise (so its been binned).......not the best organised run Iv'e ever done but you live and learn so I think the next one will be better. Thanks heaps to the people who braved the elements and supported it.
  24. If we don't sit around at the meeting point or Fairy meadow for too long, I reckon we might get through it with just a little rain if any ok.......
