  1. "Nah...we've tried taking pics at night before and they just don't seem to turn out well Well...all except for Angel's time-lapse pics anyway The best way to see it all is too....... Come along on the next one....
  2. Smicky (F6auto with brembos and ceramic pads), Martin(seducefastas)manual with stock FG brakes,.... myself and Ian(WLD460),both manuals with the FPV PBR premium brake with ultimate pads deal, all came back down the pass at a decent clip..... Smicky had no problems (as you'd expect), Martin said his were just starting to go away towards the bottom (still has stock fluid) but it was still fast enough to make his passenger throwup.... Ian and myself didnt have any problems either, but we both use our gearboxes to pull a lot of speed out of the car before we think about standing on the brakes.....
  3. try contacting Paul (our06t), he's a C/C up that way and could probaby give you some help and/or hints etc to set something up that way.

A great turnout guys....thanks for supporting the night. And special thanks to Rob, Nick and Martin for helping out with keeping such a large group together. Thanks again guys.....see you on the next one

    Is She A Keeper ?

Don't knock it.....at least she drives an Aussie muscle car. :ugotmail: She sounds like a great catch, and let's face it, Bathurst weekends will sure be interesting :o Never know....she could be thinking the same thing about you
  12. Just to put you in the picture, before the flamesuit comes out..... In the months prior to his little brainsnap. 1 She used up all the credit on his visa card and he was liable for it. 2 He lost his job due to the stress of worrying about her wanting to hang out with her 'friends' (read lovers) 3 Sold the new car he had bought her and pocketed the cash. 4 He found out that she was having an affair with the guy who was best man at their wedding. 5 Last straw was coming home from work to find his house "completely stripped bare (the skank didnt even leave him a knife, fork or a canopener) 6 Took off with current lover, went interstate and changed her name so he couldnt find her, then skinned him in the divorce courts as well. He was like a ticking bomb and unfortunately the brown bomber just flicked the switch. I was so glad I was there to drag him off BB and no, I do not write this to make excuses for his actions, But if youve ever seen a movie called "Falling Down"( I think Michael Douglas was in it) maybe you will understand some of what he was feeling at the time. This was over 20yrs ago now and he still doesnt trust women, it was all pretty sad really, he is still one of my best mates and after everything we've seen each other go through during the time weve known one another, that's the way it will stay.
  13. And you reckon you've got problems.......its amazing how a parking fine can get out of hand... This is a true story...... I went into the city with a mate to see a lawyer about his divorce settlement, it wasn't a happy experience for him because the lawyer tells him that his ex is taking him to the cleaners for around $350000..... and that's on top of what shes already done to him. Now you cant believe how pissed he was when we came back and found Brown Bomber writing ticket with meter expired by only 5 mins :ugotmail: I said to BB 'come on mate give him a break' hes just lost $350,000. BB just shrugs and says 'bad luck pal,Ive already started writing' Ron just lost it!!!....I mean, he sorta' had this major meltdown right then and there.....FIVE MINUTES, FIVE F*CKING MINUTES YOU PR*CKS!!! BB is starting to sh*t himself and writing faster, then Ron says (ILL SHOW YOU WHAT I THINK OF YOUR F*CKING PARKING METER!!! He then gets into his 4WD, drives up on to the footpath and drives right over the meter, right in front of the both of us! I'm standing there thinking...faaark this is gonna' be big.....Ron gets out and start rummaging around in the back of the 4WD...... I'm like.....what are you looking for mate? My big golf wood..... What for? So I can belt this pr*ck with it.... :o Don't be a goose...just get in the car and let's go ok.... BB stares with mouth open in disbelief, then takes off down the street.... as we drive off. Not 10 mins later, cops everywhere, out of the car, handcuffs, back to the station.....bystanders must have thought we were bank robbers.... Between legal fees, bail, fines, Oh! and a new meter, that little episode cost him another $4500 and a good behaviour bond.
  14. Vegapower (silver XR6T) on Burrows Road Mascot this arvo......
  15. The way I see it, you've got 3 options....... Drive to my place, leave your car and be my bitch for the night..... Drive to Mt. Annan, leave your car, cop heaps from everybody else and still be my bitch for the night. Or harden the f*ck up and bring your own car.
  16. That Sir......is muscle car porn .....absolutely beautiful, credit to the owner
  17. I was thinking about doing the same to mine.....blacking out the lower section that is..... regarding the towbar though.....you'd have to remove the "whole" towbar assembly wouldn't you? If I remove just the tongue and ball on mine, the part it bolts to still sticks out too much to put the cover over it?
  18. I stand corrected..... Come to think of it....I haven't seen a 9in in a BA/BF sedan yet, apart from a dedicated race car that is....
  19. Mine started playing up at 80000ks.... When it took the front wheels off and checked the ABS sensors...they were choked with brake dust buildup....cleaned em up and it's all good since A dud battery and combination switch probably won't help your cause though.....
  20. Just saw this on another forum.....looks ugly.... To do this much damage on only a tyre wall....he must have been really moving.... Driver critical after race crash | Ipswich News | Local News in Ipswich | Ipswich Queensland Times
  21. To my knowledge, the V8 guys use an independent rear with a 9in centre but since most of the housings are custom made I couldn't see it being a very cheap exercise....
  22. My housemate bought an 08 FG XR6T 6spd man. sedan with 7000ks.tech. pack and prem sound for 37990 drive away from Brad Garlicks last month. shop around...it pays.
  23. A few specs on these things for those who haven't already seen them..... One Top Fuel dragster 500 cubic inch Hemi engine makes more horsepower than the first 4 rows at the Daytona 500. * Under full throttle, a Top Fuel dragster engine consumes 11.2 gallons of nitro methane per second; a fully loaded 747 consumes jet fuel at the same rate with 25% less energy being produced. * A stock Dodge 426 Hemi V8 engine cannot produce enough power to drive the dragster's supercharger. * With 3000 CFM of air being rammed in by the supercharger on overdrive, the fuel mixture is compressed into a near-solid form before ignition. Cylinders run on the verge of hydraulic lock at full throttle. *At the stoichiometric 1.7:1 air/fuel mixture for nitro methane the flame front temperature measures 7050 degrees F ( 3900 degrees C ). * Nitromethane burns yellow. The spectacular white flame seen above the stacks at night is raw burning hydrogen, dissociated from atmospheric water vapour by the searing exhaust gases. * Dual magnetos supply 44 amps to each spark plug. This is the output of an arc welder in each cylinder. * Spark plug electrodes are totally consumed during a pass. After 1/2 way, the engine is dieseling from compression plus the glow of exhaust valves at 1400 degrees F. The engine can only be shut down by cutting the fuel flow. * If spark momentarily fails early in the run, unburned nitro builds up in the affected cylinders and then explodes with sufficient force to either blow cylinder heads off the block in pieces, push the crankshaft out of the bottom of the block and/or split the block in half. * In order to exceed 300 mph in 4.5 seconds dragsters must accelerate at an average of over 4G's. In order to reach 200 mph well before half-track, the launch acceleration approaches 8G's. The NASA space shuttle launches at about 5.5G's. The negative G force under dual parachutes at the end of the strip can generate up to 6G's. If you had no harness, this would throw you right out the front of the car. * Dragsters reach over 300 miles per hour before you have completed reading this sentence. * Top Fuel Engines turn approximately 540 RPM's from light to light! but stop & ponder the fact that the engine is only used for aprox. 4 to 5 seconds. * Including the burnout the engine must only survive 900 revolutions under load. * The red-line is actually quite high at 9500 rpm. * The Bottom Line; Assuming all the equipment is paid off, the crew worked for free, and for once NOTHING BLOWS UP, each run costs an estimated $1,000.00 per second. The current Top Fuel dragster elapsed time record is 4.441 seconds for the quarter mile 10/05/03, (Tony Shumacher). The top speed record is 333.00 mph (533 km/h) as measured over the last 66' of the run (09/28/03 Doug Kalitta). *Putting all of this into perspective: You are riding a typical current MotoGP bike. Over a mile up the road, a Top Fuel dragster is staged and ready to launch down a quarter mile strip as you pass. You have the advantage of a flying start. You run the MotoGP bike hard up through the gears and blast across the starting line and past the dragster at an honest 200 mph (293 ft/sec). The tree' goes green for both of you at that moment. The dragster launches and starts after you. You keep your wrist cranked hard, but you hear an incredibly brutal whine that sears your eardrums and within 3 seconds the dragster catches and passes you. He beats you to the finish line, a quarter mile away from where you just passed him. Think about it, from a standing start, the dragster had spotted you 200 mph and not only caught, but nearly blasted you off the road when he passed you within a mere 1320 foot long race course. That, folks, is acceleration.
  24. Its basically the same scenario as what's happened in NSW..... Despite a change in leadership, it's still the same boffins in charge.
  25. Yeah, at this time of the year....beanies, lumber jackets and uggies are gonna' be mandatory I'd reckon..
