Id love to get excited about this thread, however, since we have such a small population compared to the US.....it's so much easier for the authorities to keep an eye on us. Here....they just can your licence and/or rego....and with our somewhat inept Govts., they depend more on the revenue stay afloat.... There's big business in speeding fines, why do you think Maquarie bank just bought a big slice of the company that makes this technology for the Govt?

that's exactly what I did...... Got a new set of DBA 4000 rotors, bought a set of fpv (PBR) calipers off Ebay and put in a decent set of pads.... Instant different car .....no complaints. Ive seen guys spend an absolute bomb on brakes just for the street But for a bang for your buck upgrade....the above works pretty damn well....

Did anybody hear Alan Jones giving Roads Minister Borger heaps over these revenue cameras this morning?..... Borger, as a typical pollie, stuck to his guns about the road safety excuses ..BUT... He did concede that the 4kph tolerance is crap....and Jones took him up on this....to the point where he (Borger) is going to release a statement to that effect.....yes, there is a tolerance, but its higher than 4 kph. For all its worth anyway.

As a cruise Controller, I want to put a decent CB radio into my car. I'm always on the radio during a cruise, wether its warning everybody of oncoming traffic or just finding out what's going down the back. With just a hand-held deal its not only dangerous to talk while driving, it's also a pain in the backside when you drive a manual (which I do), you can only stay in contact with the first dozen or so cars (if that).....and I'm just jack of having to relay messages down to the back of the line.....then having to wait for a couple of kilometers for an answer to come back.... . However, I don't want a full-size radio mounted in the front of the car.....what I'm looking for is one I can remotely mount, like in the boot?....with a small panel in the front to change channels or adjust the volume etc.....with a jack in the console or somewhere close that I can plug-in a voice-activated mic and headphones...... Has anybody seen a setup like this?...where can get a setup like this?..... This has aggravated me on the last 2-3 cruises Ive run guys.....so Im keen to do something to make life easier..... Any advice on this appreciated

Whist its pretty obvious that our night cruises have been very sucessful to date.... Its been too long since weve had a daytime deal that we can bring our girlfriends, missus and kids (or both if your brave) along too? For a while now, Ive been thinking about putting a daytime family Christmas cruise together comprising an öbservation" run". That is.....a start point where everyone gets a series of questions to find the answers to while following a set route.....you will need a navigator for this one because some questions can answered on the run but there will be others where you will have to get out and look to find the answers..... Prior to the event, I will do a reccy and set a benchmark time.....participants are sent off at approx. two minute intervals to complete the route, answer the questions and whoever gets the closest to the benchmark time at the finish wins the prize.(to be decided) I have identified a suitable finish venue just south of Sydney that will have lots of appeal to everyone, kids and grownups alike, and with a decent rollup,I think it would be a great time for everybody. The venue has an undercover area with ample seating and tables, but there are no BBQ facilities, so we would have to organise our own so I would need a generous member with a ute to transport the barbie for us...(where's Ernie when you need him?)....people would need to bring their own meat for the BBQ and there's a small fee to enter (but they said we'd get a group discount) I have to pay a deposit on the venue to keep it clear for us so I'd like to get some idea of how many may be interested first.... this will take a bit of planning and there's lots to do to set it up, so before we get all carried away.....?? To make this sucessful, we'd need about 25 cars or so..... Im thinking about setting this up for late November so as not to clash with too many work parties or family gatherings. If the support is there for it?.....we are not asking for a commitment now, just expressions of interest for now.... Love to hear other's thoughts on this guys......

We had 25 show up on the night, it was a little chilly and there was a bit of drizzle up at the pie shop so we didn't spend a lot of time up there.....ended up coming back down the pass and met up at Maccas.... No dramas, no incidents, Rob's idea of splitting the pack through the congested parts worked a treat and everybody came home safe and sound with with a smile on their face and their car intact. Just the way I like to see it.....
