Hey all, chasing some advice from the people in the know. After finally dusting of the taxi on the weekend and taking it for a drive, my turbo decided to have a heart attack and sh*t itself. YAY! From what I've been told, there's a fair chance that the oil feed line has become blocked and starved it of oil. My car hasn't cracked 50,000 K's yet and I drive it less than 5000 K's a year now. So the oil may have become crappy I guess. Anyway, tears are over and I'm looking at my options but I no longer have the ability to hide the cash for my car from the Mrs like I used to.... I don't really want to go down the high mount path, look good but too expensive. So do I go a second hand FG F6 turbo with low K's, or do I go a GTx35/82R? The F6 option I think is cheaper, but no doubt id have to get it modified like I did on my current one to keep the power levels I have now. Then the price goes up. Are there any benefits of going for the 35/82 over the F6. More power, faster etc and what other modifications are needed to fit it up? Will this turbo need to be modified also to maintain current power levels? And finally has anyone got one of these turbos and what sort of coin am I looking at? Any advice will be appreciated. I use Shannons now Mike. I've listed everything that Ive done to it, they inspected it and everything worked out good. It cost me less to insure it with Shannons with all of my mods listed, than what it was to insure it with the RAC and a agreed value more than 10 grand above what the RAC would do with only limited mods listed. It was a no brainer.

That scuff plate in the engine bay looks mint. Why didn't I think of that......

Hey Mike, good to see you back, long time no hear from. Surely you didn't take your car there to get washed, as no doubt it was spotless anyway, as per normal. Though I do think the rubber hoses could do with a bit of Armour All as they look a little dull.......... Anyway, I picked myself up a 80 series cruiser on the weekend, spotless inside and the engine bay almost as shinny as mine from Chippa. Not to piss in his pocket, but seriously, if anyone is out there looking for a BF Turbo in Ego ( clearly the hottest, best looking colour) snap up his car as its up for grabs. I had quick look at it on the weekend and its sharp, real sharp! My mates who came over to have a look at the cruiser couldn't believe how clean it was for its age and the detail that has been put into it. Definitely a credit to how you look after your cars Chips. So now that I've got a decent second car, I can now start to think about the future of my XR, starting with a f*cking oil leak that has appeared from underneath this weekend!

Yeah I'd be one of them Dean. I have a book of excuses, but the main ones are kids, work, money and now buying other cars. I WILL get there this season though, if not, I can give you a wristy!

Looks like there must of been a booze bus at the end of the freeway north last night set up going in both directions. Cars parked either side with some missing number plates. sh*t way to start the long weekend!

I'm seeing more and more cars around at the moment with yellow stickers. It must be there "thing" to do this year.

Saw plenty of falcons down at XFT today getting some super charger action installed, orange F6 with a high mount and MRGONZO2U.

Yeah no sh*t. I washed my car prior to the cruise and had to rewash it today. Please plan a cruise Steve that doesn't involve RAIN!

How much of the videos that you did take Krazy turn out and are you going to post up any of it? How have you been Mike? Long time no see. You still got your turbo?

Cheers for organising the cruise Steve. Good to catch up with a few new people, some of the older ones and a good turnout considering it rained at the start. Bailed after the Murdoch leg only to get caught up in the major accident on the Freeway just past the Mt Henry Bridge. Something serious happened there, heaps of ambo's, cop's fireys. One car had caught fire and another looked deep into the bush towards the river, people all over the road..... Hope every comes out ok. Looking forward to the next one and seeing some footage from the black ute. Cheers all.
