Hey guys, looking at getting back into an fg turbo manual. Preferably a xr50t. Any potential issues I should really look out for now they are 5yrs old? Also anyone selling I'd be keen... cheers

well a tiny update. got a bluepower airbox a week or so ago....feels alot quicker now also today, finally got the bits together to make my intake silencer replacement pipe. except I need one more clamp lol ended up going with 4inch piping then reducing down to 3inches onto the turbo mouth. car has a deeper sound to it now, and spool noise has increased alot. sounds great will be getting the aluminium pipe powder coated black for a more factory look...... its a great mod to open up the fg I reckon. very happy how it turned out. took a bit of tweaking to get the ally pipe right, but it turned out well anyway here is some pics......

nice mate, that's exactly the set up I went with, paid $800 at pedders, not dumped but sits nice...I've done 2000km now and no drama's even with some quite spirited driving.....

worm, nah mate havent re ordered them yet, will do next month.....does look like im copying you this time, ohwell you copied me in the first place, so its all even now haha thanks for the comments guys, plans for the ute are: XR8 bonnet, Polished intercooler-not sure what brand yet, exhaust, tune, injectors, intake, 20's. nothing major, would like a reliable 300rwkw as its a daily... basically just want it to look tough but not go over the top with it.... oh, and normally the hardlids are around 2300 or 2400 fitted with the lid lok system, but I got a much better deal than that cheers

lol yea I better change it... thanks mate, the hardlid is by a place in melbourne called Flat Top, they are in dandenong...got a really good deal with the Lid Lok system. looks alot nicer than having locks poking out the top of the lid I think and it automatically locks once the car starts moving, the same as the doors....and it all runs off my standard factory key/remote

Hey guys, havent really been on here in a couple years since I owned my last turbo ute...since then I've been throwing money at my XR8 lol..... But now im back in a turbo ute. Picked it up 3wks ago, Black, Manual 50th anniversary turbo ute. already had it lowered by pedders, tinted and had a flat hardtop put on with remote locking and no visible locks. got plenty of plans for it but atm im just enjoying it. hope to start getting involved with cruises and stuff like that... Anyway here is some pics of it now.... Cheers

what if I was to replace the standard airbox with a Bluepower airbox? would that need to be tuned on an fg turbo? thanks

Hey guys, I've also got a 50th XR6 Turbo ute on order. in black with the manual. just sold my ba xr8 yesterday.....hoping I've made the right choice lol.... meant to be going down the line somtime in august, but no idea what date yet.....hopefully soon so I can get to modding lol......

ha ha, that's coz it is tab. was a great cruise when we last did it. wanted to do it again... I gave credit to this forum for the cruise route anyway. hope you arent to annoyed?

im gettin bout 350-400 out of mine...averaging around the 19-20L mark most of the time... work is close n my foot is heavy...lol...but when I am out on the higway I can get close 2 600kms....could get more apart from having 2 increase acceleration rapidly at certain intervals to keep the trip interesting...lol...I think I could get over 400 around town but my foot likes to rest on the bottom of the footwell ha ha I used to whinge bout how much the fuel was costing me driving the T, but then I firgured that this is the car I like n this is wat I gotta put up with...I would prefer to drive a thirsty fast car than a slow economical car

damn that would be a beast.....not looking forward to it if it gets released... I would love ford to bring out something crazy....maybe a gt-ho....knocking on the door of 400kws and doing the name sake proud...even if it is only a limited run of 50, least we would still have a bragging car...ha ha....I would like to be able to say a stock ford blows the doors off a Expensive Daewoo with out having to mod it....regardless of the fact that a Late model camira cost 50k more...would still like a 70k ford to waste a 120k holden... I wonder if they'll paint them that poxy yellow like the old vr-vs gtsr's?and have those ridiculous wings lol

just realised that there is a ford forums bseries meet on that day aswell...which I sed I was goin 2....they are starting in bris and goin thru tambo and on 2 broad water carpark.....we could join in? there is about 22 Ba/bfs goin? not sure wat u guys think?could show em wat the turbos are made of...ha ha, also sutty sed he might try make that cruise.... damn this sucks...lol... dont shoot me down if this is a bad idea lol

I just made my own out of aluminium. then painted it the same color as the car. a mate is making a sticker for it today. looks pretty good for 5mins work
