Our Turbo has stalled twice so far, both times sitting out side our workshop in the late afternoon, the car was ideling from cold for for 5 minute and went to get into it and nothing was on even the dash lights. Turned the ignition off and restarted ok, temp about 20 Deg.

Funny you had the same problem, our's went in for the 3000k service and about 500 k's after that the car went gutless, it just would not pull hard and when launching of the line it felt very doughy. This lasted for about 2000K's until about 2 weeks ago we went for a drive in hills and went to over take a car doing about 60Kph, we were in 2nd gear (manual) and pulled out to over take it and agian felt sluggish and then all of a sudden this whistle started and it really launched hard, it has been great ever since.

We can all meet at Gilies Plains Shopping Centre at 8.15 pm and go in as a group, it is on the cnr. of Sudhalz Rd. and North East Rd. Gillies Plains. As for food I supose every one can find there own. Who is comming?
-
The cruise is organized by someone else and it is for all force induction cars. It starts at 8.30 tonight at Kmart Ingle Farm, Montague Road Ingle Farm, I don't know who is going but we will be there about 8.00 to 8.15 as we are going out to tea first. Who I going and does any one want to meet somewhere before hand like at the Gilies Plains Shopping Centre.

all you have to do is swing the steering wheel from left to right and you may be able to do snakeys. In every day driving I find a car with no lsd is easier to drive but start pushing it and you will notice the differance.
-
Four table spoons of straight coffee does the same! Hopefully it will be finnished by 10.30 or I will full asleep too.
-
Ar good to see it is working again are you going on the cruise on Sataurday night?
-
Hello Timmy, so I'd say you are nothing like Timmy in South Park.......He only says one word TIMMY. Hope you don't drive like him either?
-
Oh and one last thing, check with your insurance company about side air bags. Take the same car one with air bags and one without and ask the differance in price. Some insurance company charge more for cars with air bag because it is more expensive to replace air bags in an event of a accidents....and they are NOT interested in your's or your passengers safety only the car!

Some People are talking about Brembo's for the front and they would pay $1000 more for them and not forgeting the cost to convert the rears to groved discs.....WHY? If you sat down and worked out the clamping force of the Ford premium brakes and the Brembo's there would not be much in them, as to having 1,2 or 4 pistion calipars 1,2 and 4 pistion calipars can have the same clamping force as each other but the main differance would be 4 pistion calipars take less input force to give the same clamping force as 2 pistion calipars. The reason race cars have 4 piston calipars and our race car is no differant is by using bigger discs you are appling clamping force more evenly over the disc area. If you change the brakes on your Falcon to Brembo's etc., you may interfer with the brake proportioning, pedal feel and at the worst brake knock and one other thing is can you still run the ABS rings on the other discs. The only thing I hate about the premium brakes are the front wheels get very dirty and very quickly.

Id go the brakes aswell, we have the premium brakes on our car and the are fantastic. All cars in Australia have good brakes but the are only good for a few hard high speed stops including Falcons. My wife who's car it is has also commented on the feel and stoping power of them and said it is good to know your car is going to stop. All brakes are good at 70 Kph try the same test at 110kph or 140kph and see the differance. Now don't get me wrong but most of the people on this forum would of brought there cars as a bit of a hoon thing like us, so I think if you ordered a car with this much power they should have the premium brakes as standard. The more clamping force you have will slow the car down faster, as an example if you can lock the brakes at 100Kph on one car and if you can lock the brakes at 70Kph in another car with both car having the same suspension and tyres then the car that will lock the brakes at 100Kph has more clamping force as it has the force to sop the wheel turning so if the brakes arn't locked up it will stop in a shorter distance. Same as why does a Porsche 911GT3 out brake a Expensive Daewoo Late model camira Clubsport with similar tyres and weight because the Porsche has bigger brakes and alot more clamping force to wash of the initial speed quicker. You use brakes ever day but side air bag deployment may only count for 5% of total serious accidents and then you have a 50/50 chance it will be on the left or the right' just like front air bags are only good for frontal impacts and not side impacts

We are going to get Finnishline to do ours aswell as we supply them products we manufactor, they mentioned they have done some BA's before and did have a problem with them and not to use a full metal film. I think this may of court out alot of window tinterd in the last 12 months and it only seems like it affects AM radio. More people listern to FM or CD's then AM and it may of taken a while to find this problem but we are like you , we listern to 5AA aswell along with Triple J and I think I would miss 5AA if we could not get it in the car. Holdens talked about going the same way as Ford with glass mount antenna's but have pulled the plug (pardon the pun) on it and will proberly stick to conventional antenna's.

Just of topic, has anyone had there windows tinted and wit what film, has radio reception changed.

Just a reminder:- There is also a cruise on Saturday the 11th of October at unfortunatly and ...yep you were close 8.30pm starting at Kmart Ingle Farm for all forced induction cars and oh yeah XR6T's aswell. Sorry vik351 if is to late for you, not my dicision mate. There is a cafe there so if people want to get there early for tea post it on this forum and we may all have something to eat together. Not to sure if we all meet somewhere else first close by and go in as a group as it may be hard to all park together. If anyone is going please post it here and wives, girlfriends and mates are welcome to. I think from the last one there was alot of cars there.

As BlueXR6Turbo said, it was good to meet some people and even thou there was only 3 cars there we still had a good talk about our cars, the dealer, the deals we got and what we do…...oh and we found out who fluffy was too! So let’s get this thing going and put Adelaide’s XR6T's on the map, if any one has suggestions on what to do and when for the next meeting please put a post here. From last nights meet it was discovered that people who have XR6T’s are from all different backgrounds and age groups. Some of the events we should look at are: 1 Movies 2 Car shows 3 Motor events 4 Diners and lunches 5 Cruises 6 Day trips eg. Monarto Zoo 7 Weekend trips eg. Burra, Clare or the Yorke Peninsula 8 Information nights A thing to remember before you can these ideas a car club is a social get together that has to cater to a broad range of people and activities, not just car type events but events that you can do in your car (yes I know there are some other things you can do in a car but we may get into trouble with that). One problem you can have with some car clubs is that a hand full of people do all the work will the others sit back and criticize and whine about what should have been done…..so lets all have a think and if someone has an idea post it and see what response you get. The last thing is lets not call it a car club but a social group of people who have the same interest and with people you don’t see every day……..just the occasional get together for males and females…...more like a once a quick drink at the your local watering hole were you catch up with old friends you have not seen for a while.
