  3. No I left the Sub alone on their recommendations. The factory AMP still powers the Sub and the new AMP powers everything else.
  4. Mine works fine. I have the 80gb classic and have tried the 160gb classic and that worked great as well. You don't have to have a song playing. Just plug and play. I did have an issue with mine after the 1st week....it unplugged itself behind the dash and mine stopped working. It would charge the ipod but not play any songs. If I took the ipod off pause then plugged it in it would play for a split second then nothing. At the 3k service they had to pull my dash out to plug it back in again
  5. Hi INASNT, I wouldn't have a clue....this is why I paid strathfield to do the install. He did say the front speakers didn't survive. You will have to ask someone in the know. Good Luck. BAXR6T
  6. The speakers are all 28w
  7. 6" in all doors.
  8. Chris, I've already done it.... FG Stereo Upgrade And it sounds great....all for $850 Cheers, Greg
  9. Strathfield, Sunshine Melbourne
  10. Hi Guys, Well the speaker & AMP upgrade is done and it sounds fantastic. I now have no distortion and have my BASE back. Here are a few pics of the FG rear & A pillar splits and the pioneer AMP under the passenger seat. As you can see the speakers are all 28W. The factory AMP still controls the SUB and now the sub seems to work a lot better than it did. I'm a little happy Vegemite now. Cheers, Greg
  11. The marketing guy at the Melbourne motor show. He sat in the car with me after it took me 10min to get the key so he could demonstrate everything. He told me it was a Blaupunkt as was the BA/BF. I said to him I thought they were Sanyo units, he said no. I'm only going on what I have been told. Anyway I have purchased 180w MTX splits for the front, 120w 2 way MTX for the rear and a 4x 600W Pioneer amp to run the 6 speakers. I'm leaving the other amp which powers the sub on it's own alone. All up inc. 8 gauge sony wiring kit & install $850. I got about $300 off and have to wait a week to get it installed. I will let you know how it goes Greg
  12. Hi Guys, Just a quick note. I have the premium sound in my T and I'm so disappointed in it. It is no where near as good as the BA I had. What can be done to improve this? I know the speakers are 6" instead of 7 x 5's and the head unit is still a Blaupunkt. I the AMP and sub identical to the previous model? Does the AMP control all the speakers or just the rear? I have been told it's difficult to change the AMP and SUB because of the wiring and plug connections to the head unit. I don't want a Doof Doof machine and it won't be entered in to any comps either, I just want a good sounding stereo for the long drives. I don't think this stereo is as nearly as loud as the BA. Having the rear speakers in the doors I don't think helps either. I have an installer for JB making inquires about the FG setup so he can pass on what he thinks I should do. I don't want to spend a whole lot but between 500 - 1000 would probably be my limit. Please pass on your thoughts. Cheeers, Greg
  13. Now done 2500km and last fill up I got 11.5lt/100km. It's getting better and better so much more fuel efficient than the BA. What a car. Wait til these things are run in with about 15000km on them....low 10's here we come. You can keep your 4 cylinders
  14. In my opinion it's totally over priced. You can pay an 8th of the price and get a device that can be moved from vehicle to vehicle that has many more features. That only good thing is that it's integrated in the 7" screen
  15. Well I do a mix of both Highway & city and I did do a fuel test. I got 484km to the tank. Trip computer said 20km to empty...I don't really like letting it get down that low. I returned figures of 12.4lt per 100km. It wasn't babied either. So far this tank it's looking even better. When these things are run in I reckon I will be getting mid to high 10's. Absolutely fantastic for such a fast car. Greg
  16. +1...I've been playing with it a lot...the settings that is...and I don't think it's as good as the premium in the BA. Speakers in rear doors instead of parcel shelf...WHY?
  17. Well Senna_T has answered the 1st 2 questions. I have the tow bar so I got the camera to reverse up to the boat. I actually gives you a great view and no I will leave my name the same since I was one of the original members when I bought the BA when it was launched and another member of this site now owns it.....and has already modified it. To be 21 again. The jury is out on the premium sound.....I don't think it sounds as good as the BA. I'm still playing with the settings. Cheers, Greg
  18. He did say it was getting dark and the car is black. Maybe if we all turn up our brightness on our monitors we will see the pics. :ifiusethisimafag:
  19. The seat colour is a NCO. Standard is Black on black.
  20. Here are the pics sorry for the delay!!! I love the number plate WMD (Weapon of Mass Destruction). Here George W we have found them Cheers, Greg
  21. I was told due to the curtain airbags you can't have one. I said Expensive Daewoo do them and have curtain airbags. Ford said ours are different. I said under my breath BS. I think a few phone calls are in order. I can't live with one either....I have tried for the past 2 months...oh have I tried.
  22. Looks Hot, SUNROOF? WTF???? It has to be after market. I'm interested as well. It was almost a deal breaker for me not being able to get a sunroof in my FG. Please elaborate....
  23. Nice! My 1st turbo was Blueprint as well. Cheers, Greg
  24. Not from Ford. Getting the Tint, & Interior for $450. Ford wanted $1600 and it's from the same place that The dealer takes their cars to. So I saved myself a fair bit in the end. Cheers, Greg
  25. Guy's, Just got home from the dealers with my new baby. What a car. The 6 speed ZF is unbelievable. I haven't driven one before. This car is streets ahead of the BA MK1 I had. Pity it started raining just after I drove it out the dealership but she is clean again. Tomorrow she goes in for Tint & interior protection and it's dark now so I will post some pics when I get a chance. I am working both days over the weekend so I will do my best. WOW is all I can say. Cheers, Greg.
