  1. Hey Doogstar... Just had a peak at your runs and they were Awesome... You really won't have to go far to get that time down to 13.5 or smash B Mock out of Number 1... or have you already? (can't remember his exact time...) Geez... do you think I could borrow your drive train for my first run??? just kidding.. awesome work mate!
  2. that's correct.. The October Long weekend (monday 1st of October - Otherwise known as "Labour" day) Again if anyones interested let us know, the reason behind gap in planning is that people can plan ahead... I'm going to get a couple of mates in town (a skyline owner and a Focus Zetec R) to come along... Ciao Dan
  3. Hey guys, I'm keen on planning a road trip up the east coast over the October long weekend. Depending on recruits, focus it towards a real drivers weekend where as a group/convoy we travel up the east coast or inner central west NSW and stay at a Different place each night, with tasks along the way. No real prizes or anything just for the fun of it. I had the loose idea of: Start at Canberra possibly and go out as a group in canberra. OR Start Friday late afternoon and meet at the BP truck stop on the HUME between Wollongong and Goulburn (can't remember the exact location) and then head down the Macquarie pass as the first step to wollongong. Stay in wollongong and go out as a group or sleep (either). Get up and head to newcastle. Stay in new castle (if anyone know any good detours that could serve as a good drivers road instead of heading up the pacific Highway.. it'd be good... and as a final leg. take the road to armidale through the mountains (I found it to be a good drive...) discuss freely locations, dates, tasks, etc etc etc and anyone REALLY SERIOUS... send us a PM... Ciao
  4. One thing to note though... Simon let on... He has completed a crate BA 4.0L engine for a super sedan which had a resulting power figure of 385 Fly wheel kilowatts... that's our potential guys!!!
  5. hey guys.. as you all are probably wondering... I have the results of my time in melbourne with the capable men at Nizpro... Results: Part (1) - Dropped car in on Monday, Simon did a power run as a base on monday and apparently ran an interestingly low 172rwkw... Simon orderd a 4495 and had a look, thought it was interesting but said that the extractors hadn't accounted for firing order. At that point he decided to construct his own and said he would put a BF turbo exhaust on the end. I agreed and work began. Phone call on wednesday afternoon work had been completed and they were about to do a run and then start tuning. Part (2) - Gave Simon a ring about thursday late morning (11:30ish) and he said they've been tuning it all over the place and haven't been able to make any power and were about to begin a Leakage test and to give them a call later that afternoon. Heart Sinks and mind goes wild with thoughts... End result was that cylinder 2 was leaking 13% and cylinder 3 leaking 35%... (the rest were 5% or less)... the Car was NOT going to make power in its current state... End result was apparently a power figure of 176 or so... Car is running fine though and went all the way to parkes from melbourne without any trouble... Evaluation My end evaluation of the time is that something has to have gone wrong somewhere. My last dyno run since Nizpro was C&V's which on their Dyno 2 mths ago ran 188rwkw... since then at nizpro's ending up being 172... that's a QUICK drop in 2 mths... so something's going on... Car is going into my local trusted Ford workshop for analysis for the rest of the week at which point I'll have to look at cylinder repair or Bottom end replacement (or other depending on result of analysis)... Away from that topic... the exhaust and extractors... the Extractors are a MEAN piece of work ! ! ! It looks similar if not exactly like the photos at the exhaust/extractor thread resembling a look alike turbo or a snail shell... the Exhaust is silent mostly and has an improvement on midrange torque and response... Overall its gone alright except the part where I've found out I'm losing compression... So I'll keep everyone updated on whats happening... (I think I'll adjust my signature appropriately...) Daniel
  6. Here in Melbourne waiting anxiously for results.... and as it says.. its exactly what I'm doing... Bored out of my wits too... OK... development so far... Simon at Nizpro has had my car since monday morning. He had a set of Pacemaker "Competition" headers brought over and had a look... he wasn't happy and is building them from the ground up, his words were " firing order hasn't been considered and we'll utilise the correct firing order to get what we can out of it"... lets see what the results are... He's also going to replace my exhaust with a BA/BF turbo exhaust(I think that's what he said) so dual CAT... he feels confident in 210rwkw area... I've asked him to replace my clutch too if he's got the time, so we'll see what happens... If anyone's in the mlebourne area and can help me out with how to get to the track here on friday night... it'd be much appreciated... (buzz me on "daniel.iglewski@riotinto.com")... Also if anyone has a helmet I could borrow it'd be great too... I forgot to pack mine before I left home... New tyres on the rear end too... Oh.. Simon mentioned that anyone using MT radials or alike should expect 3/10ths of a second drop in their times... anyway... hopefully have good results for my first time on friday... Dan...
  7. 4k? hmmmm let me get back to you in 1 weeks time... if you haven't sold it... hehehe 6spd fun ... here I come... just a quick question.. what was the reason for changing the gearbox?
  8. I only ask if there's a difference because I know that an xr8/T clutch doesn't fit an N/A (or at least I've been told...) so I immediately assume as the clutch attaches to gearbox, and they are different, then the gearbox might not fit our car as well... MIGHT.... but if it will alls good and I'll happily look for a nice 6spd for my N/A...
  9. hmmm this is something interesting.... didn't realise 6spd manual was an option on BF's... would they fit BA's? is there any difference? could it fit our cars?
  10. Welcome oh Airmon to the Great Clan of Falcon.... Team N/A all the way!
  11. I was going through my original purchase brochure last night and an XT sedan with auto is 1697kg.... nothing on utes... just the wagon which is an extra 200kg I'm just hoping there's no unfair advantage for the utes.... doesn't matter.. hopefully in another week and a half.. I'll have cracked 200 !! hehehe
  12. whats the weight difference? do utes have less or more weight than us Sedans?
  13. just have a poke around the thread... "NA top ten listing" (not exact title) http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=32592
  14. FARK...!!! I wish I had your contacts and enginuity! I'm a tad higher than your totalled cost... but I think I'm around the 250rwhp... Any way.. You've done EXTREMELY well there... makes me very sad.. all that money gone to waste... I think you forgot to mention the cost of Cartons you gave your brother...
  15. By this I mean how about something in june.. celebrate the challenge going on in May...? Gives a heap of people time for planning... weekend holiday for a few people too... just an idea... squash it if ya want...
