  3. None of those pussy beers for me give me a few pints of the Guiness any day.
  4. Sorry wont be making this one I arrived back at work on Wednesday to find I have to be at a conference in sunny Noosa Saturday and Sunday have a great time and go the blue oval.
  5. I have been having some problems with my car and seeing as how its leased I took it into a certain Ford dealer at Indooroopilly in Brisbane. After 2 days of them working on it trying to diagnose the fault their verdict was the wastegate actuator on the turbo was stuffed and this required a complete turbo replacement, the bill a whopping $4500. Not what I wanted with only 3 months of my lease left. I rang our good mate Ian (aka Goldie) and asked is this right a new turbo charger because the waste gate actuator was faulty. He told me no bring it down and we will have a look. A couple of days later took an early morning trip to the Gold Coast to let Ian have a look. A bit of fiddling connect a boost guage and a quick run and his diagnosis was a little different, the boost control solenoid was at fault shees less than $100 fitted. Car was still missing under hard acceleration so a new set of plugs run some 98 ron through it and this had almost gone. During our last cruise I noticed going through the twisty bits the miss was getting worse as the engine temp increased quick word to Shane (Rapid F6) "its a coil mate bet anything on it" Well I bought a new coil and started swapping these out one by one this morning and yeehaa after the second swap all the misses are gone. Thanks a lot Shane you were right. Well the washup of this little saga: Certain Ford dealer at Indooroopilly your service sucks!!!! ford customer care are going to hear about this. You have lost Ford a sale on a Territory Turbo, as after all of your efforts I have had enough and Im heading off to another brand (dont worry its not the dark side I am still a Ford fan). Wont have the same go as a Terry Turbo :banghead: but Im hoping for a lot less problems than I have had. And I wont ever have to go back to that service department, what a joke they are. This is not the first time they have ripped me off and every fault I had I went back more than once before things were rectified. And continually received the standard Ford dealer respsonse they all do that. I know I should have changed dealers. Additionally Thanks a lot Ian you are a legend and have saved me heaps. Thanks also to Shane for the final assistance to get it just right. All up repair cost of less than $240.00. Be very careful of your dealers diagnosis on your cars especially once they are out of warranty.
  6. Thanks Trent for organising the day it was great fun with lots of twisty bits. My car was not running as it should but I still had fun going up those mountains. Going through the rocky cutting at springbrook there was a bellowing noise coming from my rear. My passenger turned to me and said, whats wrong with your car dad. It was not my car it was Shane's beast breathing down my neck, that thing is awsome. Great to see everyone again and see some new faces.
  7. Well im definately coming Tab so put me on the booking at Cavs. My replacement vehicle, hmmm well its turbo charged so I stuck with that part of it but that's about as similar as it gets. Its a turbo diesel bitsa missing Poojero Exceed.
  8. Hmm dont know what happened with my Quote but I will try to make it. Saturdays are not good days for me. I fI can get the ex to do the basketball taxi duties then Im in. It will probably be the last cruise for the Citric Acid turbo as the lease is up in August and I will be overseas June and July. Anyone want a cheap well maintained citric acid turbo?? I ordered the replacement yesterday.
  9. I am about to sign up for a new leased vehicle and one under consideration is the Turbo Terry Ghia. I am however a little turned off because of some of my problems I have had with the XR6T. ?Nothing major but lots of little inconveniences the latest a front end shudder which comes and goes that the dealer has been unable to fix and I got the oh they all do that over that part of the Western Freeway BS!!! Anyway I would like to also hear from current Turbo Terry owners on their experiences how is the quality what sort of problems have you had if any? I really want one but I dont want the crap I have had with the XR6T. I still love my turbo but it is wearing a little thin.
  10. I am not going to be able to make this one. With State basketball classics looming my co-driver has training on this day and being a good taxi driving parent I will be engaged in the delivery and pickup duties for this. Have fun everyone.
  11. I should be there.
  12. Hi everyone I have a problem which seem a little weird and my service depaartment have been unable to fix so I am hoping someone else may have experienced this and can point me in the right direction. I get an intermittent shuddering in the front end with the steering wheel shaking quite a bit. This occurs at around 100kmh and as I said is intermittent. If I apply the brakes when this shudder occurs then it become more pronounced. However when applying the brakes at 100kmh when there is no shudder evident I do not get any shuddering which leads me to think the brakes are not the cause of this fault. I have had the wheels balanced twice the tailshaft balanced and wheel alignment done. Can anyone give me some clues?
  13. I got a quote of $61k for 2006 ghia fitted with towbar
  14. This one is actually made in the Benz factory in Austria not the US.
  15. Lease company is Leaseplan
  16. Trev these things dont go off road lol. They are a hot truck built for the US market primarily, where big and powerful rules the road, Harold Skruby or however you spell it would really hate these things. The clearance at the front is probably about the same as the T so there is no rock hopping with this thing. Not sure about resale they are not importing many about 60 last year so they wont be too common. They are very different to their grand cherokee cousin. Yeah petrol consumption would be a problem with the sticker quoting 16.x litres per 100km. Probably close to 20 around town with your foot on the firewall all the time, you just cant help yourself. The price is probably going to be the killer im waiting for the lease company to give me some figures to see if I can squeeze it into the budget otherwise I might have to take Shanes advise. How do I get the lease company to factor in injectors dump pipe and edit?
  17. yeahh now your talking I could install one of those external speaker things (not) just like they had on ebay some time ago to make your car sound like it has a noisy sneezy BOV lol
  18. But Shane the sound of the V8!!!! where can I get that on a Turbo Terry
  19. RRP is $92,000 on the road. Not cheap but certainly way cheaper than a Porche Cayenne turbo or a Range Rover Sport which this thing is supposed to be quicker than. I forgot to add in the above post that they run a 13.1 qtr mile bog standard.
  20. Went for a test drive yesterday as the lease is finally near its end on the T. Just looking around to see whats out there in the SUV market as that's what I will probably be moving to. Turbo Terry was looking pretty good until this test drive. Jeep Cherokee SRT8 (street racing technology chrysler's version of FPV) 6.1 litre hemi engine 313kw @ 6000rpm 569nm @ 4800rpm 0-100 in 5.1 seconds 5sp Auto The sound of this engine at full song is just pure horn you could not get the grin off my face. This thing just flew, I was heading along the Western freeway in Brisbane and the Late model camira SS ute driver's look on his face as he caught up when I turned off at Kenmore was priceless. Borrowed these pics from the Jeep SRT8 forum as I did not have my camera with me.
  21. Wayne what time are you leaving Forest Lake I will tag along with you.
  22. I will be up for lunch 1 adult and 1 child. I dont think I will take part in the karting as some others who probably weigh a lot less than me say they are too big where does that leave me???
  23. Too late I have already had too many bundies to drive maybe next time.
