  2. Busy last few days. Here is the car fully loaded up with 2 boards and the van. Car had no doubles pulling the van. Fuel consumption went from 11.7 to 12.6 using sport mode to keep up the revs and speed for hills. Once we got a our destination set everything up cracked a beer I had a few people comment on the car all of them said they were shock to see a falcon pulling that van. Then they notice its a Turbo or I tell them. Had a great time club came in 2nd place overall.

  5. Thanks mate. I managed to get a few hours work done today. I modified the Nizpro garnish and rocker cover to accept -12 fittings for the breathers. These, along with the timing cover, thermostat housing and cover, will now be sent for chroming. Fingers crossed to have them back with a fortnight. Reassembly of the IRS has also commenced. I have ordered new bolts, which will hopefully arrive tomorrow.

  13. For a daily driver I think you'd get sick of it pretty quickly. I skip heaps of gears ( on purpose) all the time when I'm in lazy cruise mode. Imagine your in 6th, 80k zone and you cop a red light, then you'll have to bang it all the way back to 1st. Years ago I had a vertical gate shifter on a toploader, it got old real quick and it was only a 4 speed! Disclaimer; I'm a lazy old Kahn ,so you young punks go for it [emoji6]

  16. Personally I don't think a 12mm stud should pose problems. I have torqued down a 12.5mm stud with over 200ft/lb, in actual fact the torque wrench went to 200ft/lb and after that used a breaker bar to the point where the nut deformed and I didn't have issue with the stud. You need to make sure that it is a non-wasted shank stud. I think you should look at more what head torque values are to be used, MLS gasket brand and whether or not you use any sealant on the head. Personally, this is not a proven recipe as I have not tested at 550rwkw and above level, marriage put a stop to that. I don't particularly have faith in the Ford MLS gasket. Its too thin IMO, no give. I would try the more expensive Permaseal one with a couple of more layers. It has more give. Or you could even take two ford gaskets to make up a 5 layer MLS gasket. I would be using 100ft/lb+ on the studs. Have used 120ft/lb, but you need to have the engined torque plate honed with the machining using your proposed head torqueing value. There are possible issues of bore distortion but the falcon block seemed OK to me. I do like using the 3 bond sealant on the deck and head. I have used copper and steel gaskets and have not had water leak using the white 3 bond 1211 sealant. Also get some really thick and widest washers laser cut for the head bolts. Alluminium does sink with those pissy ARP washers that you get. They don't need to be hardenned washers

  17. Ok beautiful, ratter had me worried for a sec, GTX35 it will be then, I've read people have ran high 9's with them, that's overkill for me but good to know the potential is there... Thank's Veva..

  19. Enjoy Rowing? Said no man ever..... There is a rowing comp on at my gym for 2 weeks at end of this month. Contemplated entering it. Need to flog yourself over 2000m. After about 750m I usually start asking myself "why did you get on this friggin thing"

  23. So.. I was a bit disappointed that I had such a sh*tty step count today.. Busted arse hedge trimming and mowing.. And didn't have much in the way of 'active minutes'.. Anyway while trawling through the data recently my fitbit is going into sleep mode really often.. Noticed it going it and out of sleep mode while I was pushing a trolley across bitumen the other day at the shops.. So anyway apparently I had a pretty restless snooze from about 8:45 this morning till 11:30.. Time to buy a vivo thingy..

  24. Here's a sneak peek at my latest little project. Setting up the ute to carry 2 road bikes + track gear...I'll do a little write up when I'm finished, I still need to tidy up a few pieces so I can drop it all off to get powder coated this week. OK so if you use your imagination the final result will look something like this, in this location.Front section is reserved for storage, this has been sized to snugly house two large storage tubs & a 20lt Fuel drumBottom rack will simply drop in with out fixings to locations in the tub linerTop rack will be mounted to brackets and be totally removable with only 2 bolts

  25. Spotted walesy and jakd in the motorvation carpark yesterday.. Has anyone used a SPOOL short motor before? Any issues? Looking at getting an engine built.. Thinking just a short motor as I am only aiming for around the 550rwkw mark. Any feedback is appreciated Cheers

  30. I've had 2x r33 gts25t and would get pulled over ALL the time. Also did get warned about a catch can that was vented to atmo. I have never been pulled over in my g6et though and rarely in my VX Clubsport.
