Thinking he means with GPS tracking. Disable it/find it fasterer? I used to think that. Then visited a mate in hospital after he'd been touched-up with a baseball bat because he used to keep his keys under his mattress. Mine have sat on the kitchen bench in plain view ever since. That's what insurance is for.4 points

Yeah was about the stripes. I was a bit sensitive about it at the time and got over it once it started appearing in multiple threads. All in the past though, no hard feelings and I can see the funny side now haha.2 points

For performance if I had to spent 160k you can't go past the GTR 35. 11.2 secs 0-400 stock, not too shabby!2 points

Bit of progression today and finally the build is officially under way, aiming to have it running with the ba turbo engine, ecu, tr6060, interior and new front end in by this time next week. This morning we changed the rear end over to the 3.73 lsd from the gold xr6. The car had done 105k's so its in much better condition plus had a bunch of bushes recently replaced. Have some nolathane trailing arm bushes to go in but dont have the press working yet so that'll be later this week. After lunch we spent a few hours on the car, dropping the engine and trans and stripping down the front end to get ready for a bath. Hoping to get it all cleaned up and harnesses swapped over the new dash in before I hit the sack tomorrow night. Here's the last pic of it as a stocker, complete with dogsh*t on the front wheel Gotta love having a hoist. Pain in the ass job turned nice and cruisy and swap completed in a few hours Got the drag rear end setup for extra squat Engine out back first, thanks to Rollin on boosted falcon for this tip! Fits perfectly with 1.5 pubes clearance on the flex plate All naked in the front and ready to wash off 10 years / 290,000km of grime2 points

You work in public transport? My brother in law is a guard on Sydney trains. The stories he tells are often amazeballs and some are just downright disgusting.1 point

You can do that but it depends on what the manufacturer uses to seal the lights. Has obviously changed between B series to FG. Had mine in oven for over half an hour at 150 and couldn't split them1 point

Got most of what I wanted done today. Most likely have another crack at the interior to get the dash out after dinner so I dont have to touch it again. Cant say its my favorite job. Also have a slight issue where the rear door isnt opening. I temporarily disabled the outside door handle to stop the car from unlocking when its pulled but it also seems like the child lock was on, had a quick stab with a coat hanger to try unlock it so it might not be locked. Next bet is the inside handle cable is now not doing what its meant to so happy days lol. Current plan is to cut the door card apart and manually actuate the lock but im open to suggestions. Front all washed up and looking like new. Hit it with a kerosene high pressure sprayer then twice over with truck wash.1 point

You talking about getting the clear lens off the lights? I heave read on here that FGs aren't as easy as B series. My BFII lights came apart after just leaving them on concrete on a mid 30s day Bseries4lyf1 point

No video, meant to get an old phone setup and riding in the windscreen but as a first timer I was being super wary about them saying they didn't want any lap timing etc, next time I'll have video and hopefully overlayed info from my bluetooth ODBII dongle1 point

My stock ba bottom end was pushed to 420rwkw an I ran a 10.5 at the drags with it. Had it tuned on united e85 I think with 21psi, was like that for over a year an then decided to go bigger on my project.1 point

You will be glad you chose joe to tune your car, great bloke an awesome tuner, there are two btr 4 speeds from dominello that joe tunes, an both of us hit over 140mph plus, an both of us still going strong.1 point

Coilovers and brembos. Watch out its addictive and expensive lol, glad you enjoyed it!1 point

8 and 10 sounds pretty stiff lol, lot stiffer than I've got at the moment, what did you end up with on the track? The other massive benefit to coilovers is the independent adjustability of height and dampening. On the circuit we don't need all four corners completely set up the same, adding or removing height or dampening can help maintain grip on any given corner, say if it was being unloaded due to the characteristics of the circuit, eg all right handers, the load on all corners isn't the same so you can dial in more grip on the unloaded corners of the car. Either way shockworks or teins are both high quality coilovers that are a great improvement on handling for daily and occasional track duties.1 point

Well cars been recovered although there is some damage on the whole it isnt too bad. In the hands of the insurance now so cant say any more. Spoke to my local ford dealer he wants it in to do a full assessment, on engine driveline etc which I was gonna get done anyway. time will tell if theres a happy ending or not.1 point

At a rough guess Jarrad, "a good mate" = old mate down past Willunga and over the hill a bit? If so, cant wait to see the difference.1 point

Consider it done, what ever it was it will be back tomorrow. We have heard rumours that it was a bit of tampering by someone who didnt like getting a ticket, a senior tech. has been assigned to the vehicle at all times. This is what I heard but dont quote me.1 point
