Yeah im with ya amm I don't know what game this PW guy and Joe are playing at I bought a PW Cooler and Joe tuned my car. I took it to the track and only managed to run an 11.2@ 124mph. I thought with my high performance standard air box , standard fg turbo and standard cat back exhaust I would of went heaps quicker. Im off to buy a new cooler and find a new tuner.8 points

if it's all in the tune, why do we need to spend money on intercoolers at all? Why do manufacturers have spark adjustment for IAT? because it does matter what the temp of the IAT is and what the engine can tolerate before knocking6 points

Hay the guy that said I should by the cheapest cooler! go get one yourself ! I own two ford xr6s a ba and a fg also own two others and two muscle cars im here to sift through the bullsh*t and work out witch cooler is best for me that is price service aesthetics fit and performance like the rest of us! Every time some one mentions a cooler the PW bandwagon gets on and bullies ppl who have decided to purchase other brands but non can tell me in engineering terms why a PW cooler works better that is a PLazmaman 1000hp verses a PW stage 3 well me being a newbie not knowing sh*t worked it out in a short period of time ! IT IS BIGGER der! plazmaman core is 490 400 x 90 and the PW is 500 x 425 x 100 !!!! not a better core but bigger!!!!! And for all you dyno junkies I would like to informed you I drive my car on the street not the dyno! and the dyno is not a true indicater what happens in the real world! and also Plazmaman have a 1800hp cooler would smack the PW cooler and weigh a fraction of the PW that is why 3 off the fastest fords use them! For all you Nizpro PWR Rapid customers you have good gear on your cars!3 points

Gaz, I might as well throw some more gear in the car since I'll be bringing my camera along and photograph everyone's car while I'm there. For anyone that isn't aware of what I'm talking about... Click here. Great roads, great people and some nice photos of your car. What more could people ask for?3 points

Hay I admit I don't know sh*t! I like the rest of us want to spend our money wisely, I just get a lot of conflicting information and I definitely am not into being a horsepower hero! just want a good all-round performing street car so I do a lot of research and talk to ppl that I think know what they are talking about, don't knock four bangers they are a good test bed! read my previous posts I am still sticking to my original post that all the PW Nizpro Rapid and plazmaman PWR coolers will do it for you, but when one supplier says they are head and shoulders better than the rest when he is using a Chinese core like the rest and make stupid clams like give one of his coolers and pay for the other, that's like buying a Ford and Expensive Daewoo giving you a car and saying if you think it is a better car they will pay for it! Don't want to bring up sh*t just logical thinking but I heard the other day Rapid is smacking Joes customers on the street with his coolers on his street tune! I I cant say that is true I was not there! ppl here are saying PW is good because he exports well PWR won a export of the year and supply nascar and red bull F1 and Plazmaman supply race teams around the world, I have looked through most of the reverent posts and it seems PW has a bee in his bonnet with both manufactures! also plazmaman has a huge amount of cores available in different configurations including Chinese bar and plates witch I think are the same core so pray tell me how can he be so much better than nizpro plazmaman rapid PWR ? BTW if you are a groupie and love the guy im sorry to upset you!3 points

Valentines day.. Got home.. Wife was cooking some awesome steaks for dinner.. She said her parents were looking after baby panda so we could have the night to ourselves.. She also said she'd been shopping for lingerie and had a surprise for me.. My boss chose that exact moment to wake me up and tell me to stop falling asleep at my desk with the door open.3 points

Back to back, PW Stg 2 First run 475, Second run 476 Happy with my cooler choice.2 points
-
Unless u want 9,s. All of the mentioned coolers will be fine. All coolers will lose power after back to back runs. Like I said earlier my pw stage 1 does me fine. With out cutting my car at all. Let the argument continue.2 points

What do we all want from our brakes? Maximum kinetic to heat conversion capacity. Heat comes from friction, it's absorbed by the heavy steel discs and the dissipated. Turbo squeezes the air, generates heat, (for a street driven) car do you want a large ally chunk that can absorb that heat energy and disapate it, or do you want a thinner chunk of ally that comes saturated with heat prematurely and then returns it to the charge air? I'm not saying bar and plate is better than tube and fin, just there's a great deal more too it than just construction type. I personally have changed from a nizpro tube and fine to a nizpro bar and plate with no other mods than cooler and the ability to absorb heater was much higher(I have data logs that show the reduced increase in it after wot runs.) , but the mass of the cooler was higher so it really cancelled out the construction type.2 points
-
Certainly goes both ways. That's why I wanna see multiple back to back runs I guess it's pretty hard given the time it takes to swap coolers over2 points
-
Or a large heavy chunk of ally can absorb far more heat before running out of capacity and returning heat the air flowing through it.2 points
-
I want somebody to comment on the heat soak factor .. Physics tells me a heavy ass piece of metal is gonna hold heat a lot longer than a light one. Happy to be proven wrong though I just want to buy the best for my application I don't give a sh*t who makes it2 points

If there's interest, I'll organize a day cruise for early May (4/05/14 or 11/05/14) up to Mt Baw Baw. Meet at Pakenham, make our way up through Neerim South to Baw Baw. Stop for a BBQ lunch and some happy snaps, then head back via Launching Place and Gembrook to Pakenham. Plenty of twists and turns for the rally drivers here!2 points

Seems like there is quite a bit of conflicting opinions here ! first this top tuner Joe, 10 second street FG xr6 and guna unleash a 9 second monster! Last few days I talked to a few, who I think are top tuners , well they go round the world tuning race cars, and most of them actually own four bangers that do low 8s and 7s and incidentally I recall seeing Plazmaman at WSID with there own 2L turbo doing low 9s and that was 8 years ago! I asked one of these tuners which cooler would be best for my 2010 FG and mentioned that there is a PW guy saying his coolers are so much better! he looked at me and laughed! He said its all in the tune and that Plazmamans new tube and fin coolers work really well he has a 600 x 300 on a race car with 420 kw he also said if you think bar and plate is better Plazmaman sell them so now the technical stuff he mentioned to the dummies like me on bar and plate coolers measure the tube thickness the distance between the tubes and count the number of fins in one inch inside and outside and if they are the same its the same core! that is if they both have the same outside dimensions, he said there is not teck to a Chinese core! unlike the American and European cores that is why no race teams use them! I did some research and Plazmaman bare and plates are much cheaper than PW Hmmmm interesting I looked at this forum to get information and ppls options so when I make my purchase it is the right one for me, more investigation coming !2 points

Pickup up the car from CMS today, happy to finally join the 300+ club Mods list: - Plazmaman 800hp polished intercooler - Xforce 4 inch turbo back exhaust mild steel - Plazmaman turbo side intake + battery relocation - Plazmaman surge tank with 044 - 1000cc injectors - Wastegate ported, larger flapper mod and 12lb actuator - BP 98 and caltex eflex tune Eflex tune was done when it was 35 degrees inside Joes tuning room , on a cooler night it should see closer to 340rwkw , ET and MPH will not lie at the track. The tune is linear and controllable, will be going back for a tune on E85 and will ask Joe to make as much power as he can , much earlier in the rev range. When pushed, the little turbo gets hot and plazmaman cooler letting me down1 point

Hey guys. First post ever! Haha. I've been in the 300kw club for years now but I just got my bf late 06 model xr6t back from xtreme ford tuning today after finally getting the turbo waste gate opened up so it could be tuned properly. On a 32 degree day it ran 336.2kw and not quite hitting 720nm at the wheels. Using 95ron petrol as that's all I can get in the bush. With only 13psi boost. The boys told me from xft that's very good numbers using 95. So I'm happy cheers xft1 point

For maximum heat dissipation you need to build one out of Titanium and paint the car pink.1 point

Welcome xX-Territory-Xx you can really get these things moving. I have done the plazmaman front mount , 60lb seimens injectors , exhaust debung and high flow cat. The territory really packs a punch when you retune it .1 point

Are you trying to say that the tests are wrong? Plaz uses tube and fin for their falcon intercoolers so that's what the comparison is between. Nizpro may be just as good as pw, the topic name is plaz vs pw. The falcon specific intercoolers from pw test much better than the falcon specific coolers from plaz time and time again, so what are you arguing against? Also no idea what you heard about rapid but I know for a fact one of the comparison swaps where the pw stg3 blew them away was from a rapid cooler.1 point

Probably the best way to run in your clutch is to use it while driving your car. Cruises are not hoon fests so you don't need to worry about burning up your clutch or anything. Just drive as you're supposed to.1 point

Absolutely no further discussion needed. This was the fact that has been sidestepped by the people wanting to blame Ford, GM, Toyota and the government. We cannot compete on a global scale. Let the emotion slide and deal with the plain simple financial facts. We cannot have a viable car industry with those figures considering the cost of manufacture vs the sell price people will pay. When you add that people don't want to buy them anyway, where's the problem with the decisions. Would any of the workers at these plants accept a 30-40% salary decrease to keep their industry alive? Maybe some would, but the majority wouldn't. The problem started during the "boom" age when Expensive Daewoo and Ford were scaling their plants to fit demand and Expensive Daewoo or Ford were on the shopping list of most Australian families. Life was good! But this change started a long time ago, and Govt subsidies of the local industry started a long time ago. But if there is no light at the end of the tunnel - you don't go into it. No ecconomy can afford to continually prop up businesses with no light at the end of the tunnel. Despite all the banter in the end the problem is that the Australian public has gone away from the Aussie Icon. Ford and Expensive Daewoo has not built the right cars here and the ones that are popular now are made overseas anyway. I can't understand why this is so hard to understand. I've been Ford man all my life and probably still will be after the Falcon goes. I still like Ford's irrespetive of where they are made. Mustang in the garage next year for sure. RIP Falcon and Commodore.... We'll remember you fondly.1 point

Not the same tire. Be carefull, there are plenty of P Zeros. This is the Corsa and these are 60 treadwear. And I would never deal with Ozzy Tyres. I dealt with them 18 months ago. They sent me the wrong tyres and 3 year old ones at that. They were not interested in rectifying the matter. Many others have had the same experience.1 point

Got the windows stickers for entry. And we got a nice spot near the display area entrance (for easier arrival / leaving early) and near some food/drink and other amentities. They needed some category judges so I volunteered. Unfortunately no kick-backs possible - they don't let you judge in the same category as your car I'll be bringing a market umbrella for shade (it's can get bloody hot in the open). Suggest attendees bring hat/sunnies/sun-screen/folding chairs and plenty of water. Food can be bought nearby - not too expensive from memory. And of course - camera1 point
