nah I lost the web page. lawl anyways I was reading how Expensive Daewoo changed things to their cars to be able to run e85. 'They have a slightly different head and specially hardened valves' 'There's even a piece of equipment mounted in the fuel tank — very similar to a police breathalyser unit — that can detect how much ethanol is in the fuel and retune the engine's electronics to suit the mix.' from another site: Typical damage will involve deterioration of ‘rubber’ fuel system components such as hoses and diaphragms, and corrosion of various metal components. It may also cause problems with fuel tank sender units and electric fuel pumps. However the type and level of damage will depend on the individual vehicle, the level of ethanol compatible components fitted and the age and general condition of the components. This damage may take some time to show up. As E85 also leans the air / fuel mixture by about 30 percent it is possible engine valves could suffer due to higher combustion temperatures. fuel for thought ey!2 points

This is an old video from 5-6yrs ago when I 1st got it going, has made a couple hundred more KW since then but it just break's everything, I had to detune it to 460-480rwkw to get it down the track without damaging an auto or a tailshaft or what not and it still ran 9.4 @ 150mph... Turbo's start to make ok boost around 5-6000 and it just shoot's off from there, lag's not an issue when your racing, just dab the gas button once or twice to get the boost up and your gone, from a roll you would just select low and keep RPM around 5000 and boost is almost instant, from memory that dyno run was backing off and was just under 30psi and 8000rpm, I still haven't reached the limit's of this engine, can run 60psi and cam's are good for up to 12000rpm...1 point

Hey mate the LX is bog stock standard, well I tell a small lie, the mighty 202 has extractor's and an exhaust LOL!! Engine is already twin cam, twin turbo, but if I proceed ahead I will be converting it back to a massive single, something like a GT42 or 45 for the street, and for ease of finding boost leak's....1 point

Your lucky it wasn't worse mate, I would get the oil pump checked, it most likely would be wise to buy another... I'm contemplating ripping the engine outa my VL and sticking it into 1 of my other car's I own, a Genuine 1975 LX SS Hatchback, I've already spoken to the same engineer that's doing my Capri, I can run Motec, I dont have to run cat converter because of the age of the car, nothing like old school with a tuff engine...1 point

Much quicker Except according to all published figures the G6E is faster than the XR6 with its LSD And it's got nothing to do with spring rate1 point

Im with you, the sound of a six will NEVER sound near as good as a lumpy v8 with exctactors and twin exhaust dumped at the diff. But the sound of the turbo spooling is something else. For me, only nessessery exhaust mods for power gains.1 point

Since I removed my heat exchanger and fitted the Setrab air/oil cooler I have had no trouble so far. Fingers crossed it will stay that way. I talked to a guy that works at a gearbox shop and he said he wouldn't even drive it home with the standard heat exchanger. Mine didn't leak but you never know I guess.1 point

ok everyone is going to jump on me for this but what ever! to be honest most the xr6t I hear sound pretty crappy compared to V8's that have the deep grunt where as any 6 turbo or not just doesnt have it...my exhaust is loud sounds ok but im into the induction n turbo sound! I have twin 3inch stainless system1 point
