Varex mufflers on our cars, or any tuned turbo for that matter, is one the stupidist things I've heard. If I was a tuner and a customer insisted on running one, I'd say step into my office I'll I get you the number of the tune shop down the road.2 points

That damn old yellow VH Commo we saw Wednesday night at meet and greet at Krispy Kremes. Tuff sounding car, from Narre Warren it's from. Seen a few times now, good to see old school cars showing hitec cars the way.2 points

It is for sale, not by my choice. Nothing wrong with either tuner, just have a few friends that wanted to see what the car would make on E85, Nizpro had a bit more experience on this area. Was planning more mods and another pit lane tune but sadly had the car taken away from me so not much I can do. Going to start saving for another one, hopefully be in one early next year.1 point

I have a Di Filippo in 3.5" stainless on my car and I love it! It isn't the quietest by any means, it certainly isn't a trait of the DiF exhausts to be quiet... especially below 2k in the first 2 or 3 gears. Get around those gears and it's fairly quiet. Still noticable but what it does have is a great note on start up and idle, backed up again when backing off the throttle. FG I am with you that I thought you couldn't have a great note from a 4L engine. I have now changed my mind. At freeway speed or really anything 80kph or above you wouldn't even know the car had an exhaust on it. Very quiet. I'll see if I can get up a video of my car in my garage on start up. When ever I take anyone from my house for a drive first thing they notice is the 044 switch on at accessories and then the burst of the exhaust as the car comes to life! At 4.50am each morning I'd hate to think what the neighbours think of it... no nasty letters left in the letterbox though so it can't be that bad! Jack1 point

Varex middle muffler won't work Dre if you have a hiflow cat, means the Varex will be the restriction so when you open or close won't be good if tuned. Pretty sure Ratter even said it once, on a stock system works a treat as stock cat will be restriction.1 point

Tuffet is a good bloke... Known him forever his always out at hwy... Also loves his easternats and C4C type stuff. I know him from ETstreet forum.. His cool. EDIT: tuffest. My bad lol1 point

glad to see someone was keeping the secret spot warm for us tonez lol. I just got home aswell. The weather was dry but not many cars out, not many police out either! Saw that damn old yellow commo upsetting a few decent cars again including F6G4CE from the lights (good stuff!). Is he still making around the 360ish mark does anyone know?1 point

Don't get me wrong stopping on the tracks were his own fault and I'm in no way taking a dig at you MAXout just matter of opinion if you wrote it before u knew he died then I suppose it's different. I'm just a bit funny about wise cracks like that when people have no idea... At the end of the day no matter what car he drove holden/ ford/ whatever.. his still not going home to his family tonight.. That's just my opinion anyway not saying you can't have yours just thought it was a bit harsh given the circumstances...sorry if I jumped the gun.1 point

Once you go 370+ you really should thing about a built motor for reliability. Simon will build you a motor with nice pistons and rods and billet oil pump. He will probably use a presion turbo from DLM. Speak to him and run through your options. Be prepared to get you wallet out.1 point

I will give ford a call next week and see what they say, but honestly don't like my chances given the age of the car. If they just tell me to take it to a ford dealer to diagnose and then they'll decide I won't bother, as it'll cost me to tow it there and and pay ford dealer to diagnose it, then there's no guarantees they'll replace it, and if they dont I'll have to tow it back then tow to my tuner. The box was still changing gears fine though so im hoping I've got to it early enough and it can be fixed. Regarding external trans cooler, I'm not sure if this is possible as I know ZF's are very sensitive in regards to temp changes and can act funny which will be an issue if bypassing the heat exchanger, and a ZF tune does not fix this. If any members here have been running an external trans cooler for a considerable amount of time with no ill effects, please let me know as I'd definitely like to get this done once I fix this mess to avoid having to go through this again.1 point
