I get home this afternoon on a hot day, and whilst turning the wheel to go into the driveway it stalled!I'd recommend that unless someone has something in writing from Ford acknowledging the problem, that based on this poll, if enough people have the problem, we write to Ford as a group action, or take further action if the problem is not resolved soon.I have a major concern. The car should not stall.Brian

It refers mainly to passing on country roads. Will try to find it when I get time.In short, I agree - major safety issue and apparently caused by bloody software, which should be amenable to a fix before someone is killed!Do Ford know about it? Well, some people in the organisation clearly do. But is there a genuine corporate recognition of the problem and it implications? Dunno - but there should be.I'm not sure of the best way to make it happen though. Getting killed in the T and having Mrs z sue Ford is not an attractive option to me.cheerszeke

It's almost like the engine was loded up with your foot on the brake and can't handle it.I will mention it at my next service and see what lame excuse I get offered!CheersBig AL

At that time it had a modified exhaust, aftermaket IC, group C racing cam, HKS piggy back ecu etc..... it had a problem that it would cut out also on high temp days. The problem was a faulty distributor that was a common problem with the 1984 model cars. I rang most of the Sydney dealers, who all acknowlegded the problem privately, but they wanted $700 for a replacment distributor. After the appropriate correspondance to Nissan Head office the distributor was replaced free of charge.Nissan had a faulty product, it was dangerous and there should have been a recall. The fact that my car was modified was irrelevant, and in no way related or contributed to the problem. I think the current Ford problem has a lot of similarity.Where there is a public safety issue Ford need to be very careful, and I'd expect them to give this problem high priority.Yes, guys I know there are other threads, but I felt a poll would be appropriate.Brian
