Stalling Problems Due To Heat?

Ok.

Up to 3 weeks ago, not a problem with the car. Then after driving back from the coast to brisbane, I pulled off the freeway and stopped at a set of lights and then nothing, the engine died. Turned it off and it started fine and away I went. temp around 30+ , done 12000 K's

Another couple of days and another high temperature day, it stalled coming to a slow down before a speed bump.

Another couple of days, was pulling into a driveway and was travelling about 15 - 20 kms an hour and all systems shut down again. ( I really miss the power steering when that happens - damm I was lucky not to get collected ).

At this point took it to the dealer, unable to look at ( and didn't seem to care ) so it is booked in for Monday night.

Then yesterday, driving down a hill, about 60 kms an hour, went again. I think if the hill wasn't straight I would have become part of the scenery. ( thank god the brakes still worked). I came to a stop in the middle of a roundabout.......

My question is, ( and I have read the other threads on the topic ) is what should I be letting the service department look for and has anyone had a similar problem fixed ?

I think if it happens again on the freeway, I will leave it in the traffic with the bonnet up and a sign that reads "Dear potential customers, this car is  ", and see if ford start fixing it faster.

Title: My Car Stalled Today

Ford have a major problem with this, and sooner or later someone will have an accident because of this.... then we'll see how Ford reacts.

Yeah, NOT acceptable for an engine to stall while driving in traffic. Jump up and down to FCS and tell them you are not confident in the car and do not feel safe driving the car any more, and you want it taken off the road immediately to be fixed, and until it is fixed you expect a loan car at no cost.

Tell them you will park it where it stalls next and that might be outside Channel 7. With a big sign on the roof if you like

Sorry to tell you this guys but a friend of mine has been trying to get his car fixed for over 12 months. Ford Australai still has no idea what the problem is and haven't shown any real improvement on the vehicle running and refuse to admit there is a problem maybe a petition to Ford maybe the go.

I hope you keep an eye on it & select Nuetral & fire it straight away, rather than just wait till you can stop it.

I spoke to my new service center about this, and aparently there is a new engine management software comming out in 1 - 2 months which will rectify this problem.

This should deal with stalling, and rough engine problems.

Gadan has stalled 6 times and ran very rough 3 times in the last month alone all in the heat, with-out heavy driving...

Who am I kidding, it was heavy driving :D
