Now that many manufacturers including APS are realising upgrade kits will you be upgrading?

Is their any particular mods of interest to you? or you have in mind?

Are people going to reply with the mods they will be pursuing?

Of course, I haven't made all my decisions yet but I expect you to have!

In chronological order for me...

1. Suspension - in around two weeks.

2. Brakes - depending on how much comes back in the tax cheque will determine exactly when, hopefully not too far away. Currently trying to decide between Brembo, AP Racing and DBA

3. Gearbox - driving a manual I definitely want to replace this before I start on the engine. Be it the T-56 discussed in other threads is yet to be decided.

4. The engine - the final question. Probably in around a year (this would mean two years without mods) I will start getting a decent overhaul. Try and get something really scary happening - although I may be dreaming. In a years time I'll be able to make a better decision based on reliability etc as to what I should do.

Grant, You have a good scheme going there - it is really good to see someone is planning the mods in the correct order. There is no point putting more power through a weak driveline, less than ideal brakes, or a chassis that is not up to it. Good luck with it all.

Have heard a lot about a weak drivetrain but have not heard of any failures to date. Maybe the much maligned gearbox is stronger than we think.

The chip is all I've changed and love the increase in usable power right through the rev range.

Just my opinion;personally I think that to spend 2 or 3 grand on a brake upgrade is a toss.Unless you r going to be doing trackdays and the like, then the standard setup is ok.I drive my car as hard as the next guy(or woman)and the break fade is very minimal, perhaps a set of dba's and some good pads!!

Just how week is the manual gearbox?-is it strong as a top loader?Sure the top loader was a notchy b**ch of a thing but mine took every thing I tossed at it in its stride.Like I said just my opinion!!!

Im sorry rainy 2-3 grand would be well spent on a brake upgrade, in my opinion the stantard brakes are unexceptable and scary when you are trying to stop after a bit of hard driving, the vibtrations and brake fade is horible. Well as far as mods go for me ill be getting the phase 2 aps kit and some much better brakes to cope. what draws me to the aps pakages is that they are totally legal and they reckon my girlfriend wont notice....

For me just the front Grill, Footwell Lamps, Non-standard alarm and the centre exhaust will be all for now.

Would like to get that air pod at some stage but cash is a big issue at the moment. Maybe next year after my holiday to Japan. :D
