HI I have a bf xr6 turbo. After letting it sit all night I checked the battery with a multi meter and it says 14.5 volts when I start it. it reads 16.3 volts. When I got to work I turned the car off left the music going for 2 minute. Battery flat. I am lost. PLEASE HELP

Weird.. from what I have seen before a battery with the car off should be on about 12V, when its running it should read about 14 volts.

Seeing that your alternator is increasing the voltage I'd say the alternator is doing its job, and the battery is possibly cactus. but I'd wait to see what others say first

I have to ask...

Are you for real? :icon_ford:

I've never seen anyone have so many "problems" with 2 different cars in such a short time frame.

Just to name a few...

Vibration

Clunk

Axle Tramp

Converter Problem

Temp Gauge

Fuel Pump Rattle

Instrument Lights

Rev Limiter

And my personal favourite...

Power Loss After Removing Heat Shields :omg:

You guys are cnuts!!

George you have our full support mate! even if we don't show it at times, and choose the comic route over helpful!

I'd say replace the battery anyway, even if just a preemptive strike. small price to pay for better starting performance, and remember; audio systems/headlights will use a lot of juice when the car is not running. so if you get to work and have 2 minutes to spare, feel like listening to some tunes before work, just leave the car running. it'll even give you a cool-down time before you shut off!

im guessing your using a cheap meter from dick smith or something because them voltages are to high for a 12v battery and 16 volts is to high for when the cars running in any case the only true way to test a battery is under load , try testing your meter on another car and see what voltages you get if they are around the same just replace your battery as its most likly your problem
