I didn't come up with the picks so credit to the original owner (can't remember who). Please read this, have a go, then if you get stuck ask a question in this thread. METHODLoosen all screws as marked.Remove Crossover.Buy some rubber stoppers like this or similar from supercheap or similar. Also pick up a mini oil breather (you can also use a stopper with a small 3-5mm hole drilled in it instead of the breather)Install a stopper in the hose at the back of the crossover as pictured, you may have to shorten this hose as to fit it all back in the engine bay.Fit the breather to the BOV as pictured. Now put everything back on tighten up all the screws apply all the clamps and your away Edited 26/03/08 05:36 AM by XRTPSI

sfr rob Member 29 Member For: 17y 9m 19d Posted 31/03/08 04:42 AM Share Posted 31/03/08 04:42 AM Well, I just did this mod, and was very unhappy with the sound with the Vented BOV.. I didn't want the Pshh noise that it made, so I removed the BOV & blocked everything up and the noise changed to an extended version of the factory tu tu tu tu sound. I am guessing I need a POD filter setup to get the chapel street VL noise I was after.Apparently you can get away with just blocking up the vacuum line ( which now with the bov removed has an 8mm bolt in the end of it ), which I might do after re-installing the BOV again to keep the extended turbo noise. My bum-o-meter has reported a rather noticeable drop in power when its on boost which seems to come on very slowly with both the vented and bov removal and felt much quicker before I removed or blocked anything up. I cant see that the stoppers I installed would leak, they are on each outlet very tight and do not have any holes in them.Shouldn't the boost feel the same either way, Bov on or off?!I triple checked every clamp and made sure everything was on correctly and that there were no boost leaks. While removing the cross over the first time, I noticed EVERY clamp from throttle body to Turbo were LOOSE, meaning I could undo them all with my fingers. I just pulled on the pipe from the cross over to turbo up the top, and it popped out from the turbo on the bottom. Oh well, the APS gear I am getting is now finally ready for me to pick up, so we will see how we go with it because I think it comes with a different BOV and may be close to the noise I am after. I went and bought a spare hose that goes from the intake to the BOV and I cut the hose and plugged it up with a chair stopper, but the ones I bought were too big for the hose. If I don't rev out the gear and back off it'll last the day, but I'd definately putting the hose back on. It sounds good but there seems to be a slight lack of performance?I also tried to put a metal 90° dose pipe on for sh!ts and giggles, but I couldn't get the thing to screw onto the housing on the turbo inlet. It just wouldn't fit! I was so cut coz I'd even chopped up a $70 Monza silicone hose to try and get a little more bend, this just made it worse. The fuking power steering pump made it impossible!I'll just have to get rid of the factory piping when I get it tuned. Then it'll suck like a Godfrey's store. Mine lasted about two seconds before blowing the stopper off. A hose clamp and she was all good.

I couldn't wedge it in as far as it needs to be, so I'll head back down to bunnings and get a smaller stopper. Also, what should I be doing with the other end of the hose? Pic attached...
