Hi Guys and Gals,

TUFXRT6 and I discussed doing a Mt Baw Baw Run awhile back and I actually tried it out just before the 2007 ski season opened. It's very good. I caught up with a WRX and Audi at the top and had some fun tagging along with them going back down. Tried to run it last November but weather was against us. So here goes another try again :spit:

So nominated date is Sunday 3 February 2008.

Here's a vid to give you an idea of the scenery.

Start at Bunnings Fountain Gate. Princes Highway up, left to goto Neerim for toilet pitstop, then right at Yarra Junction and onwards towards Mt Baw Baw for the run up to the resort through some magnificent twisties. Hot take-away lunch can be bought at top at either Kellies (less expensive) or Village Central (slightly more upmarket). Coming back is just as thrilling. On the way back, a brief photo opp at the historic Trestle Bridge and then we head straight through Yarra Junction onwards towards Noojee. Some fantastic sweeping bendies at 100km/h between Yarra Junction - Noojee. Take a left to go through Gembrook to finish up at Emerald for afternoon tea if you have time. All up about 260km for actual cruise.

The rules are simple:

1. Obey all laws whilst on the cruise; this means no speeding, no overtaking over double lines (no matter how safe you think it may be), etc...Any breaches will be reported to the local police.

2. There is a designated cruise leader who will lead the way and set the correct pace for all cruise members. There is also a designated cruise anchor that will stay at the back of the cruise. You must not overtake the cruise leader, or fall behind the anchor. If you have to stop or drop back for what ever reason, the anchor will stay back with you.

3. Use the Buddy system; always make sure you can see the car behind you. This will give people behind you an indication on where to turn to make sure nobody gets lost.

4. CB Radios; if you don’t have one, follow the maps, and directions given out. If you do have one, please limit chatter during the twisty parts of the cruise. This will allow the cruise leader to relay information about road conditions, upcoming obstacles, etc. efficiently.

5. By attending this cruise you agree not to hold FordXR6Turbo.com, it’s Administrators, Moderators, Cruise Organisers/Cruise Controllers, or Owner responsible/liable for any damage and/or grief sustained (simply; if you stuff up it is your fault, not ours).

What to Bring:

- CB highly desirable - EvilDaifu has one for free loan (just PM me if interested)

- Camera for the photo opps

- Warm clothing as still going up a mountain

- $5 to cover parking fee per car at the Mt Baw Baw resort carpark

And, please let us know if you coming or thinking of coming along :spoton: Lurv to have you come along

Handout (will also have copies at the meet point)

Is a nice twisty run up and down the mountain and the route back towards Melbourne has nice bends that you can do legally at 100km/h.

Well - it looks like if we dont get enough numbers - may have to call this one off as well. Still waiting to hear from those interested to come along.

Though its not such a big thing - there are road works on the way up but I suspect prolly wont have that much affect.
