I want to remove the wing off the F6 once it arrives, but I do not want a permemant removal until I know I can live with it.

I would like some suggestions on the best way to accomplish this without too much expence or hassel.

I also do not want this thread to turn into a "why remove the wing thread" as I do want to try, but may not like the results.

What I was thinking of doing was to remove the wing and then plug the holes with the same little plugs they use to block the hooks on the utes when they get the hard covers.

I am hoping they will be large enough to fill the holes and look ok. I will put a globe in the eye level brake light on the parcel shelf.

Short of getting a pannel beater to fill and spray the boot, is there any other suggestions as to how to fill in the holes ?

Do you think the tiedown plugs will do the job ?

I may also look at the winglet from the DJR as another alternative.

They will do the job,but look like you took the rear wing off,and put plugs there instead

why not find a wingless owner and do a swap for a month or whatever

vik...but get it in writing, cos he wont want to give it back

man trust me you will love the look..

the plugs should be fine for short term.. then get the boost sprayed later on, or do a swap with someone who has a spoilerless boot.

Hey Zap

I took mine of the other day to see what it would look like. All I did was went to Clark Rubber and got some rubber groments. Painted them in Blueprint and bob's your uncle. Thought that would be the best way until I decide what to do.

Cheers Cowie

Grab Mick's (Ms700) boot Zap....unless he's sold it already...

Short of that I could turn up some stainless plugs with a thread on the end if you wanted. You'd want a rubber grommet of some sort to go between though, even if you were to use the ute plug's. :spoton:

Edit: pipped by cowie on the grommet idea... :pinch:

Thanks guys, I just want to try it for a few weeks and if I like it I will get my mate who is a pannel beater to do it properly.

I guess I am lucky as most grommets are black, so I will not need to paint them.

Theres a few issues here, firstly the holes are going to be alot bigger then the ute tray plugs, especially where the wire runs thru, the next issue is the car will not have a parcel shelf brake light so you will then need to replace the shelf to make it roadworth. Yes I know the earlier BAs came with the brake light, but the later ones just have carpet over the top so its going to be impossible to fit a light unless you replace the shelf.

Personally with the big Typhoon kit I think it willl look stupid!, the XR gets away with it, perhaps your better off just getting a bobtail!
