Well, I'm pretty happy.

Picked this little baby up on Tuesday - 5kms on the clock.

It's one of the last Mk II's to come off the line, and this is painted in the new BF colour - Bionic.

Here's a couple of pics;

It's just an NA - I can't afford to run the Turbo - I do at least 500kms a week.

See further below

As for my existing ride - trade in the EF? No way!

I still have my EF - I'm going to give it a full on detail and then sell it.

I think I will cry once it has gone - I've had it for 8 years and it has been brilliant.

I'm hoping to get anywhere from $5k - $7k for it.

Just needs the right person to come along who appreciates a well looked after car. Certainly doesn't hurt for me to start high - I can always come down if need be.

I wanted a white one originally - the dealer I decided to buy from - Lane Ford Mandurah - had a final allotment of 4 BA Mk II's coming and they were in mercury silver , lightening strike, Toxic and Bionic.

I was so disappointed.

My Dad has one of the first Mk1 turbos in Mercury Silver - so I didn't want that colour.

Silver just blends in with the road too much for my liking.

Toxic is the new green colour - nice at first, but I don't think I could live with it.

Bionic blue really grew on me.

I am thinking there will be very few BA Mk II's in this colour.

I prefer the look of the BA airdam to the BF.

And, I was able to get run out pricing and order it too.

Off the top of my head, I got all of the following as no cost options;

- tow bar

- window tint

- front and rear spats

- headlight protectors

- bonnet protector

- dashmat

- XR mats (blue)

- XR scuff plate inserts

- lock nuts

- boot liner

And my wife wanted some input so a few extra NCO’s;

-First aid kit

-2 x Seat back organiser (kiddie backpacks)

Part of the deal was also and dealer fit LPG conversion that will take place around the 3000km mark - then I'll be back to the economical dual fuel running I am currently used to.

And the whole lot is warrantied for 5 years/100,000kms.

I will do 25,000kms a year so it's really only a 4 year warranty for me.

I have financed it on a salary sacrifice novated lease arrangement.

No pain up front at all - 5 year lease.

All up including the LPG conversion and all on roads it will cost me about $27,000 cash spread over 5 years - and that includes the $9,900 residual at the end.

My EF cost me $20,000 plus on roads, plus $2.5k mags and fats, plus $2k LPG conversion - plus various other costs easily coming to a similar figure (around $27k) - and that was 8 years ago.

So I am very happy :)

Hey - here's a quick question.

On my EF I have a K & N air filter.

Is the air filter element the same size on the BA as it was on the EF ?

I haven't had a chance to check - so wonder if anybody knows off hand
