With the up and comming Snowy cruise, and the popularity of CB radio's on all our other cruises.
I'll be asking my supplier if he will do an even bigger discount for a massive group buy.

I'm not going to bother with anything less than a 2watt unit as they are completely useless on cruises.

Entry Level: Occasional cruiser? Like to listen more than be heard 100% of the time?
Uniden UH-044XR 2watt Dick Smith Link (disregard price)
At the moment I can get this radio for $140.
Cig lighter charger Dick Smith Link (disregard price)
At the moment I can get this charger for $30

Mid range: Want a full power unit without the need for installation? Ability to attach an external antenna, although not required? Want a desktop charger?
Uniden UH-075 5watt: Dick Smith Link (disregard price)
At the moment I can get this radio for $330
Not sure about the car charger though, probably $40

Top of the line: Full time driver? Like the extra features of an in-car unit? Want to play around with external aerials to get the best possible range? Never have the need to charge it? Runs from car's power? Want a remote face to fit nicely in the Console? Want a scanner to listen to Police, Fire, Ambo's, etc..?
Uniden UH-013 5watt: Dick Smith Link (disregard price)
At the moment I can get this radio for $380 (installation and aerial will cost extra).

Once I find out how many people are interested, I will enquire to see how much extra I can get off.
At a guess I'd say an extra $10 of each unit, and $5 for each accessory.
Reciepts will be given, all purchases will be made from: http://www.wattscom.com.au/
Shipping interstate will not be an issue.

So who is interested, and in what radio+accessories?

As a matter of interest, with the big one be possible to rig up an external under-dash kind of set-up cradle with all needed plugs and wire running to it so that it could be swapped easily between cars with just a few click-on and offs?

Or do these need to be hardwired???

Lumpy

Those hand held $140 jobbies. Does the price include 1 unit or 2?

In my experience, buy the best one you can afford people. Ive got a hand held 5 watt unit and it works well, and if you like you can add an external aerial to increase the range.
