Okay, it would appear that I'm not the only sly dog out there. :spit:

Whilst my wife has given the official 'okay' to certain mods, such as new wheels for example, others would definitely not even be considered. I'm largely talking about lowering and increasing power, both definite no nos with my partner. :spoton:

Being a bit of a car nut, I've had to take things into my own hands and start planning things on the sly. :spoton::spit:

Whilst I haven't actually done anything yet, I do plan on lowering the car at the same time I get the new wheels (in the hope I can blame any change she might notice on the new rim/rubber combo! :spoton: ), and I'm planning on installing a Unichip somewhere (a long way) down the track. :spoton:

I'm envious of those lucky members (geea springs to mind) who have the full support of their partners when it comes to modding their rides. But I was just interested to know how many others are in the same predicament as me?! So, let's hear it!

I tell mine that Ford have no idea and cant fix the problems so I just get it fixed myself as its easier to pay and get the problems fixed than wait for Ford hahhahahah

I hope she never reads this or I'm dead :spoton::spoton:

:spoton: Thanks for the tip F6!! :spoton:

Errm, yep, if mine read this I'd be in the same boat mate! :spoton: Thankfully, I think there's very little chance of that happening... :fingersx:

Mine knows it's modified ... just doesn't care how much it cost ... as long as I pay the mortgages and the rents and the bills and the Hire Purchase .... ahhhhh!!!!!

I think I need another 3 jobs ... anyway my money, my car, my problem and I don't stop her buying the earings, nail polish, etc etc etc ... so we are even :spit:

Its all good :spoton:

Cheers, Jason.

My car went to Melbourne to get a fix for the stalling....... 9 months ago.

If I get it back and it stalls I'll be in big trouble.

Cost of any and all mods is NEVER EVER revealled, and she has no access to the accounts from which I pay for mods.

She said something wierd like I could do whatever I wanted to my car as long I promised I wouldn't modify her WRX. I have kept my promise, and it has been incredibly tempting to mod her car.

She gave up a long time ago asking me how much I spent on car mods.... after 30 years of mods she's desensitized.

If I was drawing up a marriage contract today I'd ensure that all car mods are allowed without question or dispute. Get mod agreement early in the relationship so she knows where she stands.

However, my wife has grown used to fast cars. For her own car she now accepts nothing less than a wrx for acceleration. That is the price I pay, so she is happy that she gets what she wants. Result is that both parties are happy.

So long as you can afford it should be the issue,if you have 5 hungry kids and they need clothes and your spending money on your T,then shame on you.

But if you are paying your bills and have money left over, as well as putting some aside for an emergency then I can see no reason she shouldn`t be happy for you.

I earn my wage, my wife earns her wage house paid off,car purchased outright .

She has never said don`t do this, don`t do that. But that also means that I don`t go out and do $10000 worth of mods in the one day. I think if you can justify it to yourself that's all that matters.

Sorry, may get flamed for a wuss, but I don`t beleive you should hide things from your partnr ,breaks the trust.

All necessities aside, do what you want - within reason of course. Life is way too short and can be cut so easily. I don't want to be on my death bed thinking "I should have done........."

This applies to your whole life, not just modding cars. :spoton:

Sorry to get so serious... :stirthepot: But my wife even sits in the passenger seat at track days and takes video for me. She lets me do pretty much well whatever I want, what a girl. :tease:
