Well, I had my T booked in to get some warranty work done... replace missing bolt and investigate noise. (Also mentioned the stalling issue again.) Anyway, nothing major.

Anyway, I dropped off my car at the dealer, caught the train into the city, then caught the bus home. 2pm came round, caught the bus back to the city, then went to the train station and got on the train. I was a bit worried when I saw that the train at the next platform that goes on the same line was still there even though it should have left about 5 mins earlier, but not overly concerned. About 10 minutes after my train was supposed to leave the station, something like this was said over the PA:

"Announcement, announcement. TransAdelaide advises that all train services have been temporarily terminated due to an unauthorised drivers' stop work meeting."

As you can imagine, this led to utter chaos at the train station. There were scool kids on excursions, office workers, etc, etc all stranded! After about 10 minutes I managed to discover what bus route went down past the dealer, so I walked to the bus stop and caught the bus. Standing room only and there was no air conditioning on the bus. Anyway, I eventually got to the dealer and got my car back.

Later in the night, I was driving along, changed gears and the wastegate flutter was about 10 times louder than normal. Happened a few more times, then I put my foot down and the turbo just made weird noises. Pulled over and looked under the bonnet to discover that the pipe from the turbo to the engine had fallen off! So I got roadside assistance to come out and put it back on.

All this on my birthday!!! I'll remember this one for a while. What an adventure!

wow, and when I first called glen later in the night, and he was waiting for roadside assistance because his turbo pipework had come off...

I was stressing that it was something I did wrong when I did a TB clean for him, but no, it was just the dealer couldnt put it back together like a mechanic with no previous BA experience.

bah, at least it wasnt that bad glenm, I did give you some tyre black, if you like, I'll get some more.
