I was told that it was a garret GT40 or something but I could not find any details in my little book. Are the turbos running about 6 psi standard from the factory?Has anyone boosted there XR6T up with a manual bleed valve? What sought of boost can the stock internals etc handle? I know its a Garret, either T04 or T40 cannot remember.6psi factory, in most T's.From experience these days you cannot 'Bleed off' the boost like we used to in the old days, as it sends the pcm haywire and you will probably loose all your boost completely. The only way these days is to run a piggyback or edit style controller for extra boost.Whilst you could technically still bleed boost off it would still need to be contolled someway via the pcm, and you would I suggest need some form of fuel rising regulator. These days with technology you will do more harm than good by not doing it properley from day 1. Guest PSIXR6 Guests Posted 09/03/05 02:35 AM Share Posted 09/03/05 02:35 AM What Brian said, I know that the factory boost is set to 5-6psi. But the turbo is working alot harder than that, as the intercooler drops 4psi across its core.... not to good So in actual fact the reading of 5-6 psi manifold pressure is about 10psi at the turbo outlet. This turbo is good for 2bar though or 30psi

I.e you hit a brick wall.My view is that once you go over say 16lb boost it is worthwhile doing housing posting/swing valve mods to get better flow.Brian
