Check out Eastern Creek Raceway's Calendar on the web to see if there is any info on upcoming driver training days. Oran Park has been used in the past as well I know.

I emailed them and this is what they said.

"You can hire out the skid pan independently - which costs $1500 (+GST) per day 9am - 5pm. You also require $10 million public liability insurance. Alternatively we run Defensive Driver Training courses on the skid pan and skid circuit "

I checked out the website and the one I want to do is Stage 2 but they require you to complete Stage 1 which is all theory and very basic skills (which I am confident I know)

"STAGE 2 is conducted on the Eastern Creek Driver Training skidpan and skid circuit. Students are taught how to manage loss of control situations through repetitious practice along with minimal theory sessions."

Guess you have to walk before you can run - the theory is just as important, in fact I'd say more important as it tries to teach you mindset or attitude towards driving a car. More important sometimes than car control. It can be argued that if everyone took a good attitude with them onto the roads there would be no need for advanced car control except in totally unforseeable circumstances. As a past instructor I can fully understand why they require you to do Stage One before they will allow you into Stage Two. A lot of people THINK they know a lot about driving but when you hear it from a professional instructor you will realise there is a helluva lot you may not know.

Appreciate what your saying Turbo6man, Can't say I disagree with you. Maybe I'm assuming a bit to much about the stage 1. To me it looks like something someone on their L's or P's would do.

I just dont want to find I fork out the $$ for something I may already know.

I could be wrong however.

Maybe someone who has done a Stage 1 and a Stage 2 can shed some input
