I have a scanner/uhf cb installed in mine. The easiest way to find power is behind the fuse box, there is a socket for the mobile phone install. I am not using a car kit for the phone, so just crimped 2 spade connectors on the power cable for the scanner, and plugged them straight in. There is a great thread on here with heaps of info on the car kit install, and I used that to find out which pins in the power socket to use. I'll see if I can dig it up. The socket is a 4 pin one, and you only need 2 of the sockets. The actual unit is under the drivers seat, and I ran the cable through the transmission tunnel to just in front of the gearstick. Most, if not all, are coded digital now and all you'll hear is digital static. Dunno about ambos and firies though Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/4090-scanner-fitted/#findComment-32824 Share on other sites

I only bought that one because of the remote face.I dont make a habit of it, but it can scan on to most UHF frequencies, including Police. In the areas I travel in anyway, they are not digital yet. But as far as I am concerned, they cant change over to digital soon enough. I have heard the stories from my bro in law about d**khe**ds blocking up the police frequencies. that's the stupidest thing anyone could do. Mine cant transmit on those freqs by the way, only transmit on the normal 40 channels. I do find it handy when stuck in traffic jams etc to find out what is going on, either from the truckies on Ch40 or from listening in to the other bands.
