Now on my first 3k service I advised of the issue the brake shims and clips holding them on were replaced and I was advised all fixed, too bad no body told ford it was not fixed as I got home and found out it was still there (just not as loud). Went back to ford about 1000k later and again the clips and brake shims were replaced, yet again I drive home and find noise still there .So I go back again about 500k later and advised of problem, I go to pick up the car and was told the front disc's have been machined, HELLO when did I say I had brake shutter , I spit the dummy and they replace the brake shims again while I was waiting and getting very pissed off.The service manager then comes over and advises they have replaced the brake shims but the problem will come back again as Ford have advised this as a known issue with all the BA's and there is currently no fix WTF!!! Also when I drive home find noise is still there loud as every. 1. Why has it taken 3 goes at it to say it is unfixable.2. WTF is it not fixable.3. Why have I not heard of this problem before on other BA's (yes I have searched and being reading this forum as of Auguest).Sorry for the long post but just wanted to get it off my chest and ask if anyone else has this problem or is Ford full of .Thanks in advance,

Have searched until blue in the fingers and poked and prodded under the car. Thought it might have been exhaust heat shield or brake dust covers from other forum comments. Dealer has had one go at it but they did not ID it as brake shims.Same deal - rattles under car over bumps, only just heard with windows shut. If only one front wheel hits bump (such as lane marking reflector), only that side rattles. Now, what the hell is a brake shim?

That's how my service dealer bugged the issue.Bugeyes
Guest TRACK Guests Posted 27/11/04 12:54 PM Share Posted 27/11/04 12:54 PM When I drive over a rough piece of road, my brakes are fine but the sunroof rattles along with the door lock button assembly on the drivers door!! Track

Can someone point me at what to glue? Pretend for a second that I am mechanically challenged - I still can't work out what a shim is. Well I did once , but he really looked like a woman.
