Stang,

I have the Apexi EL2 Electronic Boost and Oil PRessure. They are 60mm and the largest you can put in the dual pod. Electronic gauges are the best and safest way to go. While they may cost more, they do not require that you run 2 hoses (O/P & boost) through the firewall and into the cabin. You only need to run a few wires. They have a memory that shows peak, warning and a 30 sec record.

The ones I got look similar night and day to the T's dash.

My whole setup cost about $1000 and 2hrs labour

I would recommend that you consider Electronic over mechanical as they will make life easier and gives you buttons to play with :kissmy:

Like Mal I have 60mm Apexi gauges (older style), but I have white faced gauges.

Boost is mechanical. Others should be electronic.

I find white faces gauges easier to read, but they really stand out

I have 2 bar boost and oil temp.

Other options are oil pressure, as Mal has.

Another option for the serious tuner is an EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature).

Gauges are around $450 each

Can be purchased through Greenline at http://www.greenline.jp/catalogue/bblist.php?brand=APEXi

or other apexi stockists.

I like to play is it harder to get them in Psi as opposed to bar.

Stang,

I also wanted PSI for boost, but Apexi EL2's only come in BAR. You get used to it, there does not seem to be any "standard" when it comes to boost. People use both measurements.

A stock T will do 0.4bar (6psi). 1bar = 15psi (approx).

At the end of the day its not like your car will change much in the readings, but having a warning if you are overboosting and also a memory to playback any problems is a handy thing in a gauge. I have my boost warning on 0.7bar (10psi), but my car has not hit that since the unichip was fitted. Before it would do it any other gear change, Ford said there was no problem and they could not use my boost gauge as a testing tool as it could be faulty :pooh:

The oil pressure warning is also handy

Ive got a VDO guage that I'm fitting in the dash (where the FPV starter button goes). We've got a car at work with a vacuum guage fitted there and it looks great! :crybaby:
