Went out to Gunnedah on the weekend for the third time this year for the Tamworth Drag Racing Association 1/8th mile racing, its held at the Gunnedah Airport. Saturday is test & tune day, then sunday is qualifying then DYO elimination racing in 4 classes.

Its always a great weekend and they usually run this event about 4 times a year.

My car ran really well best run was 8.8s @ 141kms, (with more practice it will get below 8.5) the track there is not great for traction but that's half the fun of it, I ended up top qualifying in C class and went on to make runner up in that class, I got beaten by 0.094 seconds accross the line. By a Late model camira with a chick driver LOL but that's the way it goes with DYO racing, anyone can win on the day.

There was another Typhoon out there (stock black BF II Auto, nd it was acually build no 29, mine is No 28 so that was pretty funny, he ran well, ripped off a 8.9 I think which shows how much quicker the auto's can be)

There was also a BA turbo ute and I think he won "D" Class.

They should be running another meet on the 31st oct & 1st nov and I can highly recomend heading out if you want a fun weekend of racing, no one takes it to seriously and everyone is really friendly and there for a good time. I've only been to WSID once and will go back so I can run the full quarter but the Gunnedah Weekends are always way more laid back and enjoyable.

I drive up from newcastle usually 3.5-4hrs drive (and a good road pretty much all the way). Most times you get about 4-6 runs on saturday for test & tune and then 2 runs for qualifying on sunday then DYO eliminations. This weekend we only got 2 runs on saturday due to a massive oil down on the track. I think the first time I went out in march this year I got 5 runs on Saturday then 6 on Sunday (made the finals then too)and this time on sunday with making the finals I got 6 runs in. its 2 hours drive to WSID from my place but I always have more fun heading out to gunnedah even with the extra driving.
