Spent the past couple of days tuning the Caprice on the dyno. I fitted some knock ears, ran a wideband into the datalog, as well as having the dyno wideband hooked up, then got to learning. I switched the knock sensors on the car off and did some runs. There was no knock even though the car was previously pulling timing with the sensors switched on. I added timing and pulled timing out to see where it wanted to be. Interestingly enough it wasn't knock limited so there wouldn't be many gains by using E85 in this setup. I adjusted the WOT fuel up and down to see where it was happiest and turns out it wants to be very lean down low at WOT but quite rich up top, at least by NA standards. I have some exhaust extraction stuff so I half assedly hooked it up. It helped out a fair bit and I didn't die of CO poisoning. I really should fix the territory, that will be a whole lot of fun tuning that.

Yes I know you would @k31th. You've never asked me for anything and I was happy to help you get your car into a safe place. We can have fun tuning times next time. Much easier than getting people to pay for tuning work. Heads up people, if you need tuning work of any type I will help, but not for free. This is my livelihood, it pays for the past 25 years of learning how to tune, it helps pay for the $110k I've spent in the past 12 months on dyno etc, the over 70k I've spent on Barra based car parts learning to fit, mod and tune, the couple hundred K of tuning and mechanical tools I've acquired and it honestly it gives you a better tune or info that you can get anywhere else... By a long shot. Don't forget the tens of thousands of hours spent researching and learning. I've handed out 10s of thousands of dollars worth of free info into the public forums, nevermind the years of free message support. Yeah I wanna help but if you want a file, tune advice, remote tune, custom dyno tune or anything related, show some respect and offer to pay. For example, I have a close mate that I would help do cam install and tune for free cos mates...he insists on paying full price cos he knows I have kids, mortgage, all the same sh*t you do. Anyhow there's that. If I win the lotto I might tune for free... In other news I have an ear ache..fml

The hp tuners application has a help file that shows you how to use it. Their forum will have all the tuning info you need, this forum has plenty of tuning information and the PCMTec forum has tuning info. Happy reading!

My bro and I were going out to the gas station to gas up, I turned my car off filled it up then go to start it and it just wouldn't turn over even with a jumpstart from a random and them revving TF out of there Ute, still no start after a while of trying, the key stopped clicking when turning to start.
