  2. Decided to move the dyno to the shed today...wishing that I had bought that forklift a few months ago. Haven't got it set up yet but will have it on the ground tomorrow with the fan and computer bit along side. Also ordered parts for an extension cord for it, $380 later lol, anyway here's a pic or 3
  3. morning all, happy Tuesday 🚾

  5. Sounds like a failing trans solenoid.

    2012 fg xr6t

Bit of a weird one and any form of direction is appreciated. Saturday the car come up either dsc fault and trans fault, system comms fault flashed on and then off. Car clunked into drive, auto zf6 box, went into P,R and N fine, went into limp mode, wouldn’t recognise tryna manual shift gears either and had P0657 code with OBD scanner. Put a new battery and alternator, cleared the codes and took it for a drive. Car is driving fine now no clunking it’s recognising the manual shift mode however is bringing up dsc fault when I press the brake pedal and transmission fault only when car is in reverse. Bringing up new code U0100 Any ideas are appreciated
  7. exactly... every fart has a slight risk attached
  8. Glad to know. Knowing my luck it would quickly turn into a game of look what I had for breakfast
  9. well, it's not very nice to your children, but still, like everything to do with farts, it's funny
  10. My kids wanted to play a game so I said, "I've got a game, it's called Guess What I Had For Breakfast?!". The rules are, I do a fart, everyone takes a sniff and whoever guesses what I had for breakfast is the winner. My wife doesn't approve and wants to know wtf is wrong with me?! Surely I'm not alone in thinking it's a hilarious suggestion?!
  11. Hey mate just wondering if you resolved your issue as I currently have the same issue with identical symptoms. Have replaced coils and plugs with no improvement
  12. The OEM BOV is designed to trigger itself opening when vacuum is applied to the port, e.g. it'll hold closed until it see's a vacuum source (assuming the seals around the piston are holding the air from getting past it, which is the only weak point, not like other BOV's that use a spring to hold pressure against boost.
  13. Yea im slowly working that one out, they seem to be more of a problem than anything else. Do you guys know that the stock xr6t bov piston actually runs sideways so to speak so the piston cant actually be pushed open by boost pressure, it could potentially just leak past the o-ring that seals it when its shut. Not sure if other oem bovs work like that but it seems like a pretty good idea to me. Aftermarket should make them like that. I might chuck the stock one back on and see how it goes.
  14. morning all, happy Monday 🚼
  15. Last week
  16. Best just to have no BOV,
  17. I have a gfb dvx diverter/bov in place of the oem borgwarner bov that's part of the compressor housing and it has been working fine, well it wasnt opening under boost and causing a big boost leak. I was suspect that it could have been leaking and I had pressure tested turbo pipework and checked all plenum hoses and fittings and found nothing. I took dvx apart and put in a extra spring to make it really stiff and hard to open. It fixed it yaaa, I havnt had much luck with bovs on this barra, my Greddy type r 50mm leaked and when I put a stiff spring in it wouldnt open and this dvx has started to leak after a short amount of time too.
  18. Hope its not something more sinister like a wheel let go.
  19. Fair enough.
  20. The tuner I have will not push a ba past 13 pound as he has said that's his limit for longevity and anything over that will be a ticking time bomb. He has got 1 car at 400hp that has done over 400 thou and has been running that for many many years (running original diff and transmission)
  21. morning all, happy Sunday 🚻
  22. @kenna802 whats wrong with 17 psi?
  23. "today" is a relative term any day you do something to your car and then post about it later is fine, by the way
  24. Apologies, this was done over a few days. Carried out a filter change and oil on the BTF transmission, Carried out a Oil change on the Diff (Found the large 28mm fill nut to be finger tight....) Went to get a retune on the mods that I had previously carried out a few posts up. Got a phone call from the tuner saying the car is over boosting and unable to get the numbers back down to where he is happy with. Apparently with the work that I did installing the under battery intake and Plazmaman front facing plenum with 3inch pipework to the plenum the car now hits 17psi instead of 13psi in which it was originally tuned. They have advised I need an external wastegate to get the boost back down to where its safe. Live and learn I guess
  25. I gave the Duragloss a crack and for the price point if it you cant go wrong.
  26. morning all, happy Saturday 🚺
  27. it's definitely a talent
