Well today was interesting. Beautiful 30 plus day, boot loaded ready to go Lakes entrance, went and had lunch with my grandparents for Xmas, and after picking up a couple of people I try to put gas in my car...nothing. I tried again at 4 different stations to no avail.

It seems the tank was too hot to accept gas from under or above ground tanks.

I have come across that problem also, most of it depends on what tank pressure the servo has, unfortunately as consumers we do not get that info, Next try it after driving on petrol for a little while as tank temp and pressure may come down a little due to pumps not working.

Being on a deadline (it is Xmas tomorrow after all) I had no choice but to run the gas to empty and baby it the rest of the way on petrol.

I ended up doing 150kms on petrol and kept it to a max of 2000rpm except when the cruise control had a mind of its own! No problems at all!

When we got to Bairnsdale at 8pm it had cooled down enough that I managed to get a tank of gas in and it's all sweet again now.

Good to know that even with a gas only tune I can get around on petrol in extreme circumstances!

That why I kept that part of the tune a little more conservative

not sure if this helps, but when I had my 5ltr fairlane on dual fuel, forget filling up on gas on warm days(I think 28+ degrees but dont quote me). I remember I tried 3 servos in a row, only could put in a couple of litres of gas and it would stop...

Too much man love on this thread. If I'd spent that sort of coin on my car I'd be pissed orf?! I understand mods mean kaos. It's always been the way. And you never get what you expect?

K&N 5kw , CAT 20 kw, tune 30kw. It's always been the same. I've learnt the hard way. It's lucky we have forced fed cars, that's half the problem solved. You can force the air in, fuel can be adjusted. Reliability is another thing. Petrol is king, and so is JD.
